All Things 2024/25 College Football Transfer Portal Thread

No wonder the kid entered the portal; this coach sounds like a d!ck. Why don't you have a swig of Mountain Dew mid-sentence.....

We are spoiled with Fleck.
I thought his comments were pretty good. Guy wanted to leave. That’s fine, move on. It’s a business these days. Can’t have it both ways.

Says it well. “If you’re in the portal, you better have played somewhere.”

Nebraska's leading rusher (and Minneapolis native/Academy of Holy Angels Alum) enters the transfer portal with Minnesota needing some RB's

Go Gophers!!
Gophers offered Brown out of high school and Harbaugh was the recruiting contact along with Ciarrocco. Redshirt freshman who hasn't played a lot for an Auburn team that was down this year.

Colandrea actually started as a true freshman for Virginia and had two okay seasons.

Not advocating for either of these guys, but I especially cannot understand why Colandrea would leave unless Virginia has either a recruit or transfer in the pipeline.

I’d love to see him come back (but obviously in that backup role a la Major).
I dunno, depends on the circumstances of why/how he left. Might not be a great fit for the culture, plus he’s been a pretty poor performer since he left.

A bunch of Purdue players entering over the last couple days. Including very talented safety Thieneman.

QBs Ashton Daniels from Stanford and Mikey Keene from Fresno enter the portal with a bunch of starting experience.

Danny Collins was after him pretty hard out of high school, unfortunately I doubt we take a safety right now.

Only a sophomore. Already has slightly better numbers--earned in the B1G--than Marcus Major did after 4 years, I believe. Seems like a good chance to take!

I think they could take a Safety, they’re losing Henderson and they just had a DB recruit flip elsewhere.

Tyler Van Dyke leaving Wisconsin to enter the portal. former Florida QB has had multiple injury issues - missed most of 2024 season with a knee injury. but more QB uncertainty for Bucky.
Miami

That's an interesting one. Not sure how many good options he will have coming back from an injury like that.

My guess (and it's only a guess) is that he left because Ibrahim was returning after being out for most of 2021 and Thomas didn't foresee much of an opportunity to get a lot of carries.

Transfers like this one make me wonder a bit about the future recruiting of HS QBs. My guess is that a lot of the top-tier programs will never start a freshman (redshirt of otherwise) and not a sophomore that likely hasn't seen much game action. That puts guys like Brown in a bit of a lurch. Maybe the better route for high-ranked HS QBs would be go to a lower-ranked program where they will start sooner and if they rack up big stats, transfer up.

As per tOSU, I can't believe they didn't work harder to keep McCord around. I'm not a big believer in Howard.

Quinton Joyner, USC RB who had some really good performances, is in the portal. 90th ranked player in nation coming out of high school—high four star. Shifty and fast. Probably looking to move upstream, to a CFB contender—or maybe upgrade NIL money—but you never know.
