All Things 2024-25 College Basketball Other Games Thread

Why on earth is #6 Alabama in Grand Forks on a Wednesday night in December?

After the game it was 52 degrees in Tuscaloosa and 10 degrees in Grand Forks, with GF in a winter storm warning. G.F. has gotten 6" of snow in the last 24 hours/weather.com. I checked because I was curious if Alabama was spending the night, or longer.

Breeze Airways 6384 left Grand Forks this morning at 12:46am CST (1 hour 16 min. late) and landed in Tuscaloosa at 3:03am CST. I presume it is the team plane.

Treysen Eaglestaff certainly would be starting for us.

If he decides to go the free agent route next season, he just made himself a whole bunch of money. 💰 💵 💰.

Back in the 70s, a Fort Yates (Standing Rock) prep team was led by an Eaglestaff. No doubt Treyson is a relation.
That team made it to the state championship game going against the Fargo, Bismarck, Grand Forks, etc. schools. Don't recall if they won or not. However, the team came out onto the floor wearing Native American headresses. Dribbled around the court a couple times and took the headdresses off at midcourt. Was a huge deal at the time in North Dakota. They became the darlings of that state tournament going against the bigger city schools.

They were really something. Everett Chasing Hawk was my favorite.

Yes. The best way to think of North Dakota basketball thru those decades is the movie Hoosiers. North Dakota was littered with tiny towns and schools. Farming was the occupation du jour. The local basketball games were the social hub during winter months and a lot of pride was taken in the local team.

Not the same anymore due to consolidation of schools

That's right! Triple overtime. Would make a wonderful movie. Gene Hackman still around? 🙂

Thanks for posting. Brought back memories. Watched the last quarter and overtimes, was fun to see again after all these years.

Auburn might be close to last year Uconn level good

Purdue continues to look very very flawed

Wichita State is leading Kansas State 74-62 with less than 3 minutes left. Looks like their loss to UMKC and this win will balance out

Ohio state beating Kentucky by 16 with 2 minutes to go. I didn't see that coming.
Here's another one you - and maybe only you - didn't see coming:

UST 93
Bowling Green 68

The game was played at BGSU, The Falcons are now 4-7 and ranked #281 on Torvik
