If that was only what it was about you're right. Now if that only would translate into local radio and TV money. Even with a season of sellouts too many games are unavailable on radio or television.

So just enjoy the ride as long as it lasts.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing from McDaniels.

I hope he can keep just some of that for the rest of the playoffs.
 





Final at 9:15: Wolves win 105-93​

In Game 1, the Timberwolves showed they could at least defeat the Suns.

In Game 2, the Timberwolves proved they could actually beat the Suns. That is, not just win a game, but knock them down, wear them out and perhaps make the Suns question if they have a chance in this series.

The Wolves followed their resounding Game 1 victory with another body blow to the Suns with a 105-93 victory Tuesday night at Target Center and took a 2-0 NBA Western Conference quarterfinal playoff series lead behind a strong second half. All this despite Anthony Edwards scoring just 15 points on 3-for-12 and Karl-Anthony Towns scoring only 12.

The Wolves, who lost all three regular season games to the Suns, got a monster game from Jaden McDaniels on both ends of the floor, as McDaniels scored 25 points and had eight rebounds while defending Devin Booker and Kevin Durant all night. Mike Conley added 18.

The Wolves entered the fourth quarter ahead 78-71 and made the decisive run of the game with Edwards resting. The opened the fourth with a 15-5 run, and after McDaniels cruised to the hoop for two straight layups, Phoenix coach Frank Vogel used his last timeout with 7 minutes, 51 seconds to play as his team looked gassed, worn down by the Wolves' physical play, especially on the defensive end.

Instead of the Wolves losing their composure with officials, as has happened in playoffs past, it was Vogel who manifested the internal desperation the Suns might be feeling as he earned a technical in the fourth quarter while jumping up and down in hysterics after a foul.

The Suns had two off days — Game 3 is Friday night in Phoenix —to figure out how to combat the Wolves' defense, and they came up empty. Booker had 20 points and fouled out with 2:17 to play. Durant had 18 on 6-for-15 while Bradley Beal had 14 points on 6-for-17.

As the game wound down, the crowd engaged in a few "Wolves in four" chants..

Much better game last night. Just speculating, but I’m thinking he might have been too amped up in the first one. Being old and the window closing type stuff. Maybe settled down in this second one.
 


The view from Phoenix. Like a lot of the national media, it's starting to dawn on the Arizona Republic writer that a team based around defense and 2 big men on the floor can actually work in the NBA. Took a 56 win season and now 2 playoff wins for them to grudgingly admit it,

MINNEAPOLIS – The series isn't over for the Phoenix Suns, but the struggle is very real right now for them.

Third-seeded Minnesota protected homecourt in winning Game 2 Tuesday, 103-95, before a sellout crowd of 19,310 at Target Center in taking a 2-0 series lead in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

The sixth-seeded Suns have yet to score 100 points in each of their two playoff games against the Timberwolves, the NBA's best defensive team in the regular season, after averaging 118 points in sweeping the regular season series, 3-0. That shouldn't happen with three prolific scorers in Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

Phoenix has a chance to return home and take Friday's Game 3 and Sunday's Game 4 to even the series, but have a problem that has resurfaced in the postseason that Booker addressed after Tuesday's loss.

"My frustration is just within the team," Booker said. "We need to execute. We play well when we're playing and then we need to stick together once things turn bad. We've done that throughout the season. Something that has to be corrected."

Hard to see them fixing what has been a problem all season. The T-Wolves certainly played a role in the Suns boiling over in constant conversation with the referees as coach Frank Vogel received a technical foul in the fourth quarter.

Minnesota went on a 20-8 run that started midway through the third and ended in the opening seconds of the fourth, and a 14-2 run in the fourth to take a 96-78 lead with 6:58 left in the game..

NBA Playoffs: Phoenix Suns lose composure, turnover woes continue in Game 2 loss to Timberwolves

Listening to sports radio here in Phoenix is so fun this week!!! They are going off on their "Big 3" and they can't believe how good McDaniels and Conley are. They agree ANT is on the cusp of being one of the premier faces of the NBA and they think KAT is one of the most overrated "stars" in the league.

They also think if they win Game 3 and this series is far from over.
