The Twerps have pulled quite the recruiting class - 5 four star guys.

FWIW, Ryan James has heard from a NW source (a coach) that the coaches think they will land Piper and the source agrees.

Also, Piper still has academic concerns but the coaches believe they can get him in if he chooses Minnesota.

2015 has all the makings of a disaster without another big this year, I prefer a center that is comfortable in the post, you need someone at least 6'9", I have a feeling we will be going the Juco route though in 2015 on the nature of an Ingram talentwise, hope I am surprised but that tends to be the most difficult position to fill, Tubby always had a couple of centers that had good talent making it seem easy.

I would use the words rebuilding year if we go that route. Coach P. and staff are in a tough spot. They need immediate help to avoid going 0-2, but need to position themselves to replace their 4 best players for the 2015/16 season. The next 30 days or so, and NSD in November are going to tell us a great deal about the future of the program.

For clarity, what does NW mean? Northwestern coaches think they'll land Piper?
I take it as being a coach from the Northwestern part of the U.S. probably Washington. I'd be surprised if Piper doesn't choose Minnesota with many things pointing to him choosing the Gophers. Many Gopher retweets and favorites on Twitter for a while now, following a few Gopher players and even one of the beat writers, and even his comments in interviews where he seems to say more about the Gophers than any other team. Everything seems to point to the Gophers but I guess that also happened with Reid Travis and that didn't end well for the Gophers so I can see why some are a little cautious about him going elsewhere.

Isn't he the guy that some wonder if he will be eligible because of maybe being considered a pro playing overseas? Could be a similar situation to Enes Kanter at Kentucky.

Yes, Pacific Northwest. Should have been more clear but thought it was fairly self-evident.

SS also said to not be surprised if Piper goes to a school he hasn't been listing. Plus we're in B1G land. So my immediate thought was Northwestern.

I don't know, I'm just relaying information provided by Ryan James. I'm assuming a HS coach, probably in Washington.

Also, Piper still has academic concerns but the coaches believe they can get him in if he chooses Minnesota.

Are you saying that "the coaches" are the same as (a coach)?

If this is one of his tweets, its a terribly constructed tweet, even for twitters standards.

I could read your post one of twenty ways. The North West coach that is the source thinks that the coaches, University of Minnesota, think they will land Piper and the coach from the North West agrees....

Either way this is a cluster, and I'm way too nervous for a guy that seemed like a freaken lock less than 12 hours ago.

No, it was my wording and I see why it could be confusing. I didn't do a very good job of constructing it. Let me try again:

Ryan James has heard for a Pacific Northwest coach that the Minnesota Staff feels that they will land Piper and the PNW coach agrees that Piper will be a Gopher.

Sorry for causing such confusion, this is good news guys.

Another quick update from James, Piper texted him that he will be announcing his decision this Wednesday.

This isn't info I am getting directly from a so called source, but I'm hearing Its Minnesota or South Carolina, not Washington from someone who seems to have a good source. Very heavy Minnesota lean, and it supposedly an open secret that he is going to Minnesota amongst rainer beach. With that being said, hope his parents don't talk him out of it and have him change his school last minute, not looking for another backlash from some you fellas again because a kid didn't pick your school

People inside our program will be shocked if Piper goes elsewhere

That would be the same shocked they reportedly were when Travis about-faced. As Holy Man said, if Piper reverse Reid's us, the coaching staff and all of us fans are going to be talking to ourselves.

They'll definitely be good. I was just reading up on Cekovsky signing, apparently they don't have an open scholarship for him right now. So I'm not sure how they're going to work around that but the rest of the class is pretty impressive, Trimble was a Mcdonalds All American.

All recruiting will now need to refer to Reid. Reid will now replace such storied Gopher recruiting heartbreaks as Glenn Rice and Doug Wrenn. They are now distant bad memories. Reid is a ghost who is alive and well and will haunt us for a long time.

Look forward to Wednesday when this episode of Bold and Gopherhole-Recruiting Version is concluded.

Well, it WAS your fault.
