He is talking about USAFWho was I being the prick to? I was simply supporting a player that people seem to be ripping with some facts. I also said in a post that I don’t think he fits here and likely doesn’t want to be here.
There's approximately 50 posts on this, in this very thread.Apparently a D2 kid named Wes Enis visited yesterday per 247. 20 ppg scorer/40% 3pt shooter/80+% FT shooter and good defender
50? I guess I have some catching up to do. sorry- missed 'emThere's approximately 50 posts on this, in this very thread.

Can confirm not a TonyCome to think of it, I have never seen in the same place at the same time.
Also never been to New York. Too many people.I think the nyc guy is beercules.
13 minutes per game 3 pts, 3 boards at Butler? I mean sure but that's certainly a guy that would be pretty far down the bench barring improvement. Not in the portal yet but a name to keep an eye on is Boden Kapke now that his season is over.
Just scored 14 yesterday vs. Boise.....big body....has skills.13 minutes per game 3 pts, 3 boards at Butler? I mean sure but that's certainly a guy that would be pretty far down the bench barring improvement.
Dave H nailed it....i was 1000% not referring to you with that comment.Who was I being the prick to? I was simply supporting a player that people seem to be ripping with some facts. I also said in a post that I don’t think he fits here and likely doesn’t want to be here.
Good summary. I think this is where most reasonable people are at, and thank you for articulating it. I personally need to see Evans or equivalent sign to feel like things are on track.Sandfort is reportedly choosing between Nebraska (who recruited him out of high school) and going back to Iowa with Nebraska being the favorite. The Lipscomb kid from Wisconsin has already visited Iowa and is going to take some other visits but I haven't read Minnesota mentioned (though I've read/heard very little in regards to Minnesota visits). Payne is going to follow Buzz to Maryland as many have already said here. I agree with those who'd say he'd be a no brainer take for the Gophers if they could get him, though he's a tough fit in this NIL/pseudo salary cap era if you don't have a lot of money. If Payne is one of only 2 big contracts you can hand out, can you build a team with his limited skill set offensively taking up such a big piece of the pie? If you're Maryland, you probably can hand out an extra big contract (or two) compared to Minnesota and that makes him an easier fit.
I think Heide is the type of guy who could potentially flourish with a bigger offensive role. I'd be intrigued with adding him. Holloman would be great too but he's kind of like Payne in that he'd probably require one of our biggest contracts and do we want to give that to a guy who is limited offensively? (I think there's an argument to "yes" here with the intangibles he brings as far as leadership and possible local excitement).
I am personally already a little nervous going in to this dead period (or whatever it's called). I feel like Iowa has already made more strides in adding a big piece in Sturtz and another starter in Manyang. Medved didn't have a Sturtz like talent he could bring with him but Crocker-Johnson seems to be about the same level as Manyang. There's another 3 guys or so coming (or will be coming) with McCollum to Drake that I would say have a similar chance at success as someone like BJ Omot, but have the advantage of already performing in McCollum's system. If we at least had Evans in the fold, I'd feel better, but I still wonder where we are going to get our big pieces/stars from? As a good friend said to me, we likely will either have to overpay for 1-2 big pieces and sacrifice depth or try to put 8 guys together making similar dollar amounts and hope 1 of them breaks out in a big way. As of right now we've got two guys I'd be fine with in a top 8 in Asuma and Crocker-Johnson and and a 3rd who probably would be fine in Omot.
I am not at all saying the sky is falling as the process is just getting started, but I didn't think we'd be a week in and Crocker-Johnson would be the headline addition.
I'd take a Wes Enis commitment this morningGood summary. I think this is where most reasonable people are at, and thank you for articulating it. I personally need to see Evans or equivalent sign to feel like things are on track.
Im not to worried. We all knew that the Drake team was gonna transfer to Iowa. Seems like Medved is branching out instead of just concentrating on old players.Sandfort is reportedly choosing between Nebraska (who recruited him out of high school) and going back to Iowa with Nebraska being the favorite. 100%!!!!Payne: 10 PPG, 5 RPG, can't shoot outside of the paint, can't hit a FT, has 1 year left
Crocker-Johnson: 9 PPG, 4 RPG, can hit a 3, can hit a FT, has 2 years left.
Yet so many on here are acting like Payne would be a significant addition and just shrug their shoulders at adding Crocker-Johnson.
YUP and he still has what 1000-1500 players to choose from. We all need to relax a little here.Im not to worried. We all knew that the Drake team was gonna transfer to Iowa. Seems like Medved is branching out instead of just concentrating on old players.
Evans I 100% want on the team but not any of the other CSU transfers currently in the portal.
Looks like he values 6’7-6’9ish forwards with a wide offensive skill set. Until they start dwindling away, I’m not worried.
As I am sure you know at GHole we must always be at DEFCON 2. Makes it much easier to reach DEFCON 1 at a moments notice.YUP and he still has what 1000-1500 players to choose from. We all need to relax a little here.

One played in the best conference in the country and the other played in the Mountain West.Payne: 10 PPG, 5 RPG, can't shoot outside of the paint, can't hit a FT, has 1 year left

I think the tough part for some is putting their faith in Medved to actually assemble a good roster from the portal after watching Johnson fail to get it done the past few seasons.Im not to worried. We all knew that the Drake team was gonna transfer to Iowa. Seems like Medved is branching out instead of just concentrating on old players.

One also averaged 25.5pts/7.5 boards in the tournament and the other averaged 9.5pts/6.5 boards. One played in the best conference in the country and the other played in the Mountain West.

LOLThere isn’t much difference in jumping from the Mountain West to the B1G/SEC. Plenty of guys make that jump and are just as good or even better. The Mountian West put just as many teams in the tournament as the ACC.
He’s not one of us. Payne is.Payne: 10 PPG, 5 RPG, can't shoot outside of the paint, can't hit a FT, has 1 year left

I mean don't get me wrong.....it is tough to find guys that can score like that....but he isn't one of us so do we really want him?247 points a game? I'll take him!!!
