2024-25 Wild Season

That icing call with 30 seconds left was so bad. Foligno got hosed big time
I’m not certain how the rule works. It’s a race to the face off dot. But it’s unclear to me how it works if the puck rebounds beyond the dot. Which it did.

Oh they completely blew it. Its a race to the dot/puck on the rebound.

Ref just inadvertently blew the whistle not realizing. Hence why they moved it to center ice rather than a true icing.

That was bad. But we survived it

Weird move, on the surface. Will start in Iowa. Gave up a haul of draft choices. This guy better be a stud.
He's a big, offensive RHD that we desperately need but not the greatest skater and got sour about not being an NHL regular yet.

He was drafted 6th Overall in 2022 for a reason...tons of talent but being poor at skating backwards is not the best trait for a defenseman.

Guerin is apparently infatuated with the guy but how does he avoid Iowa with Spurgeon, Faber, Brodin and Middleton all playing well and expecting Buium to be here towards the end of the season?

I'll trust Guerin on this one but I hope he's not another Barker.

The Wild seem to be playing with their food tonight, shuffling around against a bad Predators team. They better get their shit together in the last 12 minutes here.

Wild with the OT win. Tie with the Jets for the most points in the NHL. This is a team that wasn't even suppose to make the playoffs or be this good. What is going on here.

Thanks for the information. Maybe this is the first of a few moves and we will get some draft stock back? I just don't like all those high draft picks. FWIW, TSN gave the Wild an A and Columbus a B-.

The Predators have some pretty talented players and were supposed to be much better. The Wild appeared a little gassed, but I think slogged through it and got the job done - in large part thanks to another terrific game by Gus. Nice game by Foligno and, as usual, KK buzzed all over the place at times. Quiet were Boldy and Johansson.

I'm as shocked as the next Wild fan with this start but it is early yet

I had some healthy scratch on the Wild last night, so I was getting nervous. Betting the NHL is a ridiculous adventure, should definitely stick to football.

VGK comes back home from a great 5-game road trip and knocks off Winnipeg Friday night (you're welcome, Wild) and the next night (yes, a back-to-back) they throw up all over themselves, losing to Utah 6-0. WTF...

I'm thinking this is just a little sign that Billy is playing for the next couple years. With all the money coming off the books at season end. I don't think draft picks are the short term priority.

We have an awesome core that we need to add on to.

I know this move is a young player that's a bit of a project so its a little contradictory. But the idea of moving picks points to what I think the plan is going to be moving forward

Tired

I play hockey 3 days a week all year and If I go hard I'm usually wrecked the next day.

The NHL should only schedule back to backs if both teams are playing back to backs.

Yep. Professional hockey is an absolute grind. You can’t take a shift off. I think back-to-backs with your rule would be practically impossible. I would say no home-away back-to-backs.

"Zuccarello (lower body) was placed on long-term injured reserve Tuesday.

"Considering Zuccarello has already missed eight games due to his lower-body injury, this switch to LTIR isn't expected to significantly impact his recovery timeline. The veteran winger will need to be out through at least the team's next three contests, though with a road trip in the mix, the earliest potential return date is likely Dec. 12 back home against Edmonton."

Going to the game tonight again - I was at Zucc's last game. We didn't know at the time he took it in the sack. Hope he's actually going to be ok soon. We need him.

That just sucks and yes they need him. Enjoy the game Jake. I'll need a summary of it as I'll be at my bantam practice

He's not all in, remove that thing and get on the ice...

They make prosthetics just like teeth.🤣

I despise 3 on 3 OT but can’t deny that was a fun 5 minutes. What a missile from KK for the winner.

I absolutely love it. I despise shootouts. I'm old school too but I've grown to love 3 on 3. When you are at the X during 3 on 3 it's usually pretty damn exciting

It's not that 3 on 3 lacks excitement, I just hate deciding a hockey game that way.

Gotta wrap up games in a 82 game regular season. And it’s a far better way than a SO.

Which is why they moved to 3 on 3 so OT can actually decides games.

Good to see the wild win a few. We are pretty hit or miss every year after regulation.

Is this a move to make cap space to sign Kirill to a new contract? Spurgeon's contract ends in 2026, so he's gone. Jiricek won't be paid near the $8M price tag that Spurgeon's collecting this year, it'll be closer to $1M.

It could be but I don't think it downplays Guerin's genuine infatuation with Jiricek or our organizational need for a RHD with size.

There were some "rumors" floating around that they tried to include Spurgeon in the trade but Jared nixed the deal with his NTC.

I don't personally believe those rumors considering our start to the season and how beloved he is in the locker room, but if true, that would certainly validate your line of thinking further.

I've never understood why we can't have a regular season tie, but whatever, it's obviously not going away.

Much like soccer, a tie is a very disatisfying result after investing 2.5 hours watching at home or spending $100 on a ticket.

It's easy to see why you find 3-on-3 to be gimmicky but damn if I don't find it to be a ton of fun...and I want a result.

I think a vast majority of the hockey purists would agree with you, though.

This sucks. Double E is the ultimate 2 way center
