2024-25 Wild Season

Wild took care of the Sharks last night 5-2. Sharks had won 4 of their last 5. Boldly with 2 more. He's playing so well right now

Wild win 5-2 but it sure felt closer than that. Ducks in the second period were all over them but thanks to Gus and the Ducks missing the net they only got one goal. The Thrill with another 3 point night with 2 goals and a helper. So fun to watch

Any idea what the kerfuffle was after the game with Zuccarello and others jawing at the refs and Duck players before heading down the tunnel?

I missed that
The teams got into a scuffle as time elapsed but this didn't seem related to that.

Zuccarello was pissed off about something and was going after the refs and Ducks before eventually leaving the ice.

Just a remarkable start to the season. Even the biggest homer couldn't have expected this.

I have been super optimistic about the future(if Billy does it right) with all the young/in their prime talent and loads of money coming off the books. But did not expect much for this season.

Been very fun

Boys are going through the motions so far tonight down 1-0 halfway through the second to chicago

Boys woke up in the third to tie it up but Hawks win it in overtime

Very blah game. But at least they got a pt. 5/6 pts on the road ill take any time

Lets get really hot at home now.

Excellent win. Not because of the opponent but because we lost two key players in Eck and Zuccarrello early and shut them out with 10 forwards.

And Spurgeon went down in the third. Gus with his first shutout of the season. Man he's playing well so far
Brodin was already out too

We need guys to get healthy quick. Very tough schedule here coming up and about to head right back on the road after Dallas on Saturday. So many road games.

Very true but it would not surprise me if they go on a bit of slump when they hit the road again. I mean nobody thought they'd have this kind of start. Enjoying it now no doubt

Dallas could very well win it all this season. Pretty obvious who the better team was last night. They are deep have great goaltending and are physical

Wild come through with the late empty-netter to seal a nice 2-game parlay where I had the Wild at -1.5; needed that EN to push the margin to 2!! Way to go WILD!!

The Thrill with 2 more tonight and is now at 13 for the season. 50 is a real possibility

He plays as a first liner now when the other team has an empty net. I feel like he never did under Dean Evason. I couldn’t figure out why. He’s incredibly good along the boards where a lot of the 6-on-5 action takes place. He aggressively tries to score goals and has the skill to make them happen - either for himself, like tonight, where he set himself up, or setting up others.

He’d be great on the PK too, but I wouldn’t want him out there blocking shots. Way too valuable to increase that risk.

He is so damn good along the wall and I've never seen a player do more mohawks in a game than Kap. Be interesting to see who Billy brings in next season when those 2 hideous contracts are up at the end of this season. It seems like it's been an eternity

I'll be interested too, because Billy has been milking that excuse for at least a couple of years now. Put up or shut up time for BG next year.

Excuse? Hell it's handcuffed him since he became GM and quite frankly I think he's done a pretty good job with it. Not real happy with his Foligno contract but other than that he's been pretty decent in my opinion

He's the one who bought those guys out in the first place. He's made some good moves (EE and Boldy extensions to name a couple), and has made a lot of trades that have shuffled pieces around without notable improvement. By no means am I saying to get rid of him tomorrow but at some point this roster needs to show notable improvement.

Now I'm not saying they are Stanley Cup contenders yet but I'm seeing improvement this season. The young guys have done well considering they are getting more ice time because of injuries. I doubt this type of success continues but I'm going to enjoy it until there is a bump in the road and there will be at least one of those

Our young players are continuing to rack up points. Boldy has 19 points in 18 games, Rossi has 15, and Faber has 10. It’s shaping up to be a strong season.
Fourth-line players Lauko and Khusnutdinov have 4 and 2 points, respectively. Both deserve a bigger role, but what’s most important is that the team is working well as it is

I agree with both of you guys. It's was a bold move to buy those guys out and develop some of the younger guys.

Now Guerin needs to complete Step 2 and use our remaining cap space wisely. The Foligno deal was a head scratcher as was Hartman's, but I have faith that Billy spends it well.
