2024-25 Wild Season

Good game last night between Canada and Sweden. Canada got extra point with 3 on 3 OT goal. EE got game tying goal for the Swedes in 3rd period.
US and Finland tonight.
Have I mentioned I hate 3 on 3 hockey.
I'm okay with it for the overtime, but they should make a rule that once you've gained control in your blue-line zone, you can't skate it out and carry the puck back across the red-line - sort of like the "over-and-back" rule in basketball.

The margins are so thin when the quality of play is so high. Connor McDavid was allowed open ice exactly two times in two games against the US and scored both occasions, including the dagger.

Jaccob Slavin and Jordan Binnington were terrific last night.

Auston Matthews is something like 0-7 in series deciding games now, and it was him who left McDavid wide open on the clincher.

It was good entertainment, I have to admit. Better than I thought. Still not sure I like the timing of it but I'm sure they can improve.

And now back to your regularly scheduled programming, full NHL tilt coming soon!

As a VGK fan, I'm already bracing for the collective hockey world to lose their minds at the trade deadline. VGK D-man Shea Theodore broke his wrist in the 4 Nations for Team Canada, an injury that will have at least a 7-8 week recovery (could be way longer, who knows), which would land almost precisely at the end of the regular season, start of the playoffs; he'll go on LTIR, and knowing the VGK front office, they'll use that extra $5.2M to go big game hunting at the trade deadline; Theodore makes it back for the playoffs, everyone loses their minds about Vegas gaming the LTIR system.

Johansson can’t get off this team fast enough. Out of position, side of the puck, just garbage hockey player.

The 2nd Detroit goal was an absolute joke. Ref signals a goal, lights go off, horn sounds, smoke, and everyone stops playing. To review that and say the goal should be good because the whistle don’t blow is a joke. There is not a whistle on a goal. News to all arenas going forward if you even suspect the puck went in blow the horn and signal goal. Everyone will stop playing and then you can score.

What a comeback by the Wild yesterday. Moose ties it with a minute or so left and Rossi wins it overtime

If the loophole exists and is within league rules, the teams that refuse to utilize it are the ones cheating...their fans.

Ovi with a hatty today and now just needs 13 more to beat Gretzky. We may see history when we go watch the Caps play the Wild at the X march 27th

Can someone explain to me how this goal was allowed? As you said, ref points "goal", horn sounds, smoke sent up, and everyone is supposed to keep playing? Someone make it make some sense...

This is incredible and why sports are always the most entertaining. Coming to a movie theater near you in the next few years -

Wild can't hold onto a 2 goal lead and lose at home the Wings 3-2. Payback from last saturdays game in Detroit I guess

Crazy how this team has the record they have but have scored 4 fewer goals than they have allowed
