I remember how excited Kill was when he committed. It turned out he had good reason 😊

Pirsig and Blaise Andries are similar to me, both had a number of great offers but decided to stay home. I'm surprised neither could stick in the NFL.

I thought 78 was retired for Bobby Bell, and I suppose I never noticed it hiding in plain sight on the backs of some very large men in recent years.

What's the story here? Nagurski (72), Smith (54) and Giel (10) don't seem to be issued, but Sandy Stephens (15) and Bobby Bell (78) still are.

Are some numbers more retired than others?

Here's No. 78 Faalele scoring the first touchdown in Minnesota's Guaranteed Rate Bowl victory over West Virginia
He basically pops 60 into the endzone. LBs on WV must have been thinking "Oh, Sh*t..."

Video about Bronko Nagurski. Covers his NFL career but still interesting

I'll re-ask my question about why Nagurski, Smith, and Giel numbers are actually retired from issuance, and Sandy Stephens and Bobby Bell are retired but still issued. Anyone know?
