Randomly came across this on twitter and had to look it up. There was an Ice Bowl played in Fairbanks, AK from 1949-1952. They played it in January (average high temp in Fairbanks in January is 0). It featured the U of Alaska Fairbanks and Ladd Air Force Base in Fairbanks.

The first three games had a total of 3 points scored.

Deion has recruiting aura and ability in spades for many but that kinda wierd teary pity party pregame speech rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t get it. I know, different strokes…

This Cricket Bowl is a hoot. Everything from the excited broadcast team, to the players, Deion, and game drama is a circus. I am entertained, which is the point I guess.

Jackson State TE drops easiest soft pass/catch imaginable in the end zone. Jackson State subsequently misses again on 4th and 10. Feel bad for that guy…brutal.

Just saw Vikings making a dramatic come back…didn’t see that coming.

Let’s all go there next year. Sounds amazing.

No kidding. This literally sounds like a total blast! If we have to go to some fringe level bowl, how about one in freaking paradise with no rules or security?

People bitch about all the bowl games as meaningless trash, but honestly, so many of these are just really fun football games. This Lending Tree bowl with 5-7 Rice vs. 6-6 USM has been an insanely fun game to watch. High scoring. Big plays. Frank Gore Jr. is an amazing player (get him here!).

The game got pretty chippy last night.

Apparently, it started during warmups and escalated from there. There was a big scrum in the 3rd quarter that the officials did a pretty good job of breaking up. That one resulted from a player getting just mauled out of bounds, and could probably have ended up especially ugly.

Air Force makes Baylor look silly last night. 5th 10-win season since 2014.

I just saw that. I thought I was looking at the score backwards at first. The game is on ESPNU right now. It looks butt cold there in Texas.
