2020-2021 College Basketball Other Games Thread

Gophers just need to win and it won't matter...but it's the gophers were talking about

Thought all along that Hurt would have a long career at Duke. Will be wrong if he comes out after this year. He is bigger and stronger and rebounding it really well.

I disagree that he'll have a long career at Duke. I agree if the belief is that he should have a 3/4 year career at Duke. But for whatever reason, when guys are ranked where he was ranked by the recruiting services, very few of them stay more than even one year, almost independent of any sort of college success or failure.

This is the unfortunate thing about college hoops nowadays is that guys like Hurt would stick around and become stars for their programs and hated by others. And that was part of the charm. That is not the case anymore because the second guys have any sort of success (or perceived upside), they bail.

If he plays next year that is 3. If he plays like he has this year he may think about coming out. Can really shoot it and now other parts of his game are moving forward. More cohesion to his skill set.

re: Wisconsin gets upset

I dunno what's official, the tv clock or the buzzer, but if i was Wisconsin i'd be pretty pissed because that shot didn't look like it got off before the clock hit zero.

Bucky should be mad at Potter got bullied on the box out by the freshman.

What is this in reference to? The last tip in wasn't even close to an issue?

What am I missing? Or is it still live until it hits the floor? The clock is clearly at 0.00 while the ball is still falling from the 2nd free throw.

TV clock (started when the ball was still in the air) doesn't matter. Ball isn't live until touched by a player. It's the red around the backboard that signifies the clock hitting zero.

Thank you for that. I usually feel like I know what's going on but this looked wonky.

It was. TV broadcast didn't do any favors here. Even clocks in the arena don't always sync perfectly. I believe the basket clock and backboard lights are official.

Too bad, they had several ways to win and Gard will focus on the missed block out and the unessessary foul.

Clock on TV was wonky for most of the ending.

Stopped incorrectly when Trice hit his go ahead shot. Stopped well before Carton was fouled. Started before Carton's free throw even hit rim.

TV clock/scoreboard is strictly for our viewing pleasure. It's similar to every know and then youll watch a game where a the team up 28-26 hits a 3, but the scoreboard accidentally reads 29-28 the other team.

North Dakota State leading Kansas 60-58 with 4 minutes to go

So Wisconsin is beatable. Who would've guessed 😁

Typically always are at the start of the year. Gard is great at finishing strong. If they stay healthy they are still going to be really tough.

Wisconsin is experienced and play together that will keep them in games. They need Wahl and Davis to keep developing. Trevor Anderson looks shaky with the ball. Their freshman got a dose of playing in a physical game against a Power 5 team. Wisconsin needs to rebound better. Like always they will be in the mix..

Wahl has made a jump, Davis good, Carlson belongs.
