2014-15 Other Bowl Games Thread

If Mississippi State gets beat that'll convince me of all I need to know about the SEC West.

How Freeze has kept Bo Wallace in this game is beyond me. Dude is a train wreck.

I had to laugh when they went to the sideline reporter and she talked about how Bo Wallace was trying to fire up his team by saying "We're the SEC". How's that working for ya, Bo.

Yes they are, and I hope everyone watching this game remembers that.

Can only hope so. But will need a GT and OSU win to really knock the SEC off their perch (as evidenced by last year's stomping of Alabama by Oklahoma; didn't seem to make a difference at the end of the day). As it stands now (assuming a loss in the Peach Bowl), the conference is 4-2 and favored in the rest of their games.

Even before this game, I am baffled how OSU with a loss to a horrible Va Tech team gets in vs. TCU. With their only loss to another Bubble team and for the most part blowing everyone out- it makes no sense.

The only way I change my mind is for OSU to beat Alabama.

Man, this TCU team is fun to watch though.

It's not that confusing. No need to overthink it.

Maybe the most amazing part is that it's 42-0 despite a fair amount of poor decisions from Boykin. Has 2 INTs, could have 4. If he was hitting on all cylinders, it could be 56-0 by now.

I agree 100%. You could choose a team who lost to a barely bowl eligible VT at home or one who lost to a top 5 team, on the road, by a field goal. Seems pretty easy to me...

Have not seen a lick of the game but MY GOODNESS TCU is really making me hate that loss to them less and less. We had a bad game vs. (arguably) one of the best teams in the country. Not a moral victory type of fan but if any losses warrant one, TCU's loss is winning my vote.

As the commentators have said, this performance should move TCU into the top 3 heading into next year (assuming everyone returns). TCF better be packed and loud. If we're gonna catch them, I'd prefer it be the first game of the year, at home, under the lights, on a Thursday night.

I turned it to BTN to watch the hoopsters. Can't watch the dismantling anymore

I always enjoy watching an SEC team get dismantled. And my wife allows me to have two TVs in the living room during football season so I can watch the basketball game on the big TV and still have the football game on the small one.

Dang, that's awesome. Is your wife single?

My wife is working today (somebody has to), otherwise I'd probably be scrubbing underwear, not watching sports.

She wears the pants.

Those are the lamest hats ever.

Since I was denied the chance to watch TCU dismantle an overrated Oregon team this was an adequate consolation prize.

It's a crying shame we have a terrible post-season system and a selection committee composed of a majority of administrators and Condi Rice. Did you know she was involved with hiring a coach once?

I think it should be a combination of the two. If two teams have a similar record (same amount of losses), you should look at the whole picture: strength of schedule, who's playing the best, who looks like the better team, etc. It's close to me, Baylor probably has the better resume but I think OSU is the better team.

Well said. I think OSU nudges out Baylor as a better team but to me just because youre the better team doesn't mean you should go. Its just like the NCAA tourney to me. Was Lehigh better than Duke in 2012? No but they beat them and deserve to go. In this case Baylors resume "beats" OSU to me so I think the should get in. The NCAA tourney comparison is a little exaggerated but I think you get what im saying.

Boise taking to to Arizona thus far. 28-14 and the Broncos offense looks legit. Could be a high-scoring affair before its all said and done

Those pinkish unis for Arizona are hurting my eyes.

So the conditioning coach for Arizona needs to be fired.

They were sooo gassed at the end. Great game.

I've never seen an entire team like that just be entirely out of gas. Usually you'll see the receivers get tired on those two minutes drives, but no excuses for the quarterback to be entirely out of juice.

Great start for GT. Would love to see them take it to MSU tonight.

Percent chance sportswriters and SIDs, playoff selection puppets admit they overrated University of Mississippi, Miss St, Auburn to keep Alabama (or any SEC) in playoff? Zero percent.

We will be playing the real #1 team next year, at TCF. Congratulations TCU.

See, you are missing the beauty of CFB. Every game matters - more so than any other sport. I think TCU may be the best team and I totally think they belonged in the Playoffs, but if you want to win the NC then you better win your conference first. TCU didn't and TCU isn't.

MSU has started to shut down GT. All the momentum in their favor now.
