2014-15 Other Bowl Games Thread

Bad Bo Wallace has shown up today.

We'll see if it ends up mattering. After a blistering start, TCU seems to be trying a little too much trickery. Didn't work on that play, great field position for Ole Miss.

Man, Bo Wallace has been horrendous. Granted, so has the rest of their team. Still plenty of time for a good game to develop though. TCU has been known to be a revolving door on defense at times. They can certainly give up 30 points.

Addendum to my above post: Wow, Wallace is bad.

ESPN is going to be crazy if TCU ends up blowing out Ole Miss and Ohio State ends up getting blown out by Alabama. Talk about fodder.

I hate the SEC, but that scenario has me second guessing my choice to cheer for TCU. I hope TCU wins a horribly ugly game.

So far that seems to be playing out nicely if Ole Miss can get their act together. This is a turnover fest.

The beatdown is officially on. 21-0 TCU with 11 minutes to play in the 2nd quarter. Ole Miss is going to be totally gassed on defense come the 4th quarter at this pace, and it has a chance to get certifiably ugly.

Ready your controversy meters!

I'm trying to figure out why the Cotton Bowl is the only one of the big six to play at the same time as other bowl games. In the past, they've played some big bowls after the new year. Having one of the big six bowls on Friday night would have made more sense to me.

Yeah....that doesn't make any sense. Between the Citrus Bowl and the Outback Bowl.......ESPN would have done fine. Now....they have two games on at the same time as the Gophers that I will hardly see any of.

Yeah....probably warranted as well. I will say however.....Ole Miss has layed some eggs this year along with their big wins over Miss State and Alabama. It again shows you how overrated the SEC is year in and year out. they have some great top end teams.....and the rest of the conference benefits.

Also worth mentioning that most pundits thought that Baylor would get the nod over TCU anyways....since they had the head-to-head victory.

True ... and if Baylor ends up demolishing MSU (along with a Bama domination of OSU) the controversy meter will go off the charts. Skip Bayless and Mark May will probably pass out with the amount of blood rushing to their crotches.

Yup. Hopefully MSU can take care of business. I thought that the final playoff slot should be between OSU and TCU. On a neutral field.....I think that TCU would have held on.

I love that TCU is destroying Ole Miss. I do believe that the SEC is over rated, and that OSU will beat Alabama

This game could easily be 42-0 right now. Total domination.

Baylor should have been the last team in. TCU had better loss and strength of schedule than OSU, Baylor beat TCU head to head. OSU had the worst loss followed by Baylor but they then beat TCU head to head. The playoff shouldn't be who is the better team it should be the team that deserves to go and I don't understand how anyone says TCU and OSU deserve to go ahead of Baylor. Not a Baylor fan at all I was actually somewhat glad to see OSU get in being they are a big ten team but I really really disagreed with that selection from a logical point.

Baylor also sleepwalked through the non-conference. Both OSU and TCU played a decent team from a Big 5 conference. If OSU would have played the Baylor non-con schedule......they would have been undefeated. I look at it as the best team that makes a decent case gets in. TCU lost an away game by three. On a neutral field....they probably would have won.

SEC! SEC! SEC!

Am I doing it right?

I had to laugh when they went to the sideline reporter and she talked about how Bo Wallace was trying to fire up his team by saying "We're the SEC". How's that working for ya, Bo.

I think it should be a combination of the two. If two teams have a similar record (same amount of losses), you should look at the whole picture: strength of schedule, who's playing the best, who looks like the better team, etc. It's close to me, Baylor probably has the better resume but I think OSU is the better team.

I heard that as well. It's bizarre to me. I can't imagine any player of another conference saying "We're the Big Ten" or "We're the Pac 12".

In my opinion the Baylor vs. TCU argument is easy. Head to head is the tie breaker in literally everything in America. There is no argument there.

Baylor vs. Ohio State is a sticky situation, but in my mind, Baylor vs. TCU is not a question.

I agree with that. Same record, head to head should be the tie breaker.

The Gophers gave TCU a much better game than Ole Miss is giving them. Granted TCU is making a playoff snub statement.

And it's good for the Gophers in the end. TCU ending the year with a win versus getting spanked by Alabama will mean they are going to be a top 3 team coming to the bank next year.

Win-win situation for us. Nobody cares if you lose, and you're a top 10 team if you win.
