I disagree. You can watch as many summer AAU games you want during the live periods. There is a limit Pitino couldn't watch Tyus two weeks ago due to Tubby visiting him too much.

No, a coach can watch as many games for a recruit as possible during the live periods. There are periods when the coaches aren't allowed to come and watch, such as this past weekend. But outside of those periods, the coach can go to as many games and I think also visit the recruit at his school as much as possible.

"If an AAU game happens and no college coaches are around, does it make a sound?" - Ancient Chinese Proverb
He said UNC, UK and Iowa state. NOTHING about the Gophers. Pitino was getting my hopes up, but it's just like that hot girl who goes on the first date with me. After she finds out I make 20k a year, she's off to look for millionaires again.
Sorry if I seem negative, I'm losing faith.
Gopher Hole: Are you expecting all seven of them to be in Hampton for the Boo Williams Invitational this weekend?
Tyus Jones: I am. The U of M can’t be there because the old staff used up all but one of the viewing opportunities, so they wouldn’t be able to attend any games or anything like that, but all the other schools will be there.
Gopher Hole: They will be in the gym though.
Tyus Jones: Yes, they will be in the gym still.
---Can someone tell me the difference? Do 'viewing opportunities' allowed to be court side or talk to players after the game?---
Back to Rashad please.
Rashad come to minnesota be the MAN just like Whalen did for the womens team a few years ago... You and Reid would be like Macarvile/whalen... Every fan in minnesota would treat you like gold. Turn a program around with a new coach new system... You would own this town for years just like Whalen still does to this day..
Great post. To add to that, you could use the Miller twins as an example of what it could be like if Rashad and Reid leave the state for college. The Miller twins achieved great success in college and have been moderately successful in the WNBA. Case in point, the Millers are not treated like gold in their home state, and instead have been largely forgotten since they left in 1998.
I have (finally) come to the realization that the Big 3 will be going elsewhere...horrible for this program.
Vaughn sounds like a strong UNC lean:
"I'm just building a relationship with Coach Williams and Coach Hubert (Davis)---really everybody on the staff I've got a good relationship with---and they were at most every game (last month during the open recruiting period)," he said.
"Every other day (we communicate). I talk to them a lot," he added. "I like Coach Williams and the staff, and I like his style of play and everything like that."
Vaughn came close to committing to Carolina on a recent visit, but he decided after a conversation with his family not to rush things and to play out this summer on the AAU circuit before narrowing down his list or making a final choice.
"I came for a visit (to Chapel Hill)," he said. "I was close (to committing). I was talking to my parents and stuff, but we all decided I'll wait."
Elite athletes in football and basketball in this state just aren't fans of the Gophers. They really seem as if the could care less about their home state or college. Pitino will have better luck recruiting New York City than the Twin Cities. Vaughn's agenda is clear a prep school in the east then on to Chapel Hill for a year. Then the NBA. Vaughn is Carolina lock. Maybe Travis will be the exception but it would have been nice to get one of the game changing type guards Vaughn or Jones. Maybe Pitino can pull a mircle but that's what it will take.
Suddenly he's a UNC lock? Unless Rashad visited UNC again, his most recent visit there was when Tubby was still the coach. Tubby did not play the style Rashad wants to. Pitino does. He also seems to be recruiting and relating to prospects much better than Tubby ever did. Don't you think things may have changed a little since Tubby was fired? People are overreacting just a little bit here. If he would have been close to committing to UNC within the last week then it would be a completely different story.

That's fair but until you've seen what kind of style Pitino plays you have no idea what it will be. People have been saying he's a UNC lean for months now and this just confirms it.
Did you just make that up? People as in random UNC fans with no connection to Rashad or anyone he knows? ESPN reported we were a front runner for him and in excellent position to land him. I think I may even remember someone on ESPN saying we may have skyrocketed to the top of his list.

When was Vaughn's visit to UNC? I was under the impression that this was a recent development.
They also said UNC was the front runner.
