All Things TV Series Recommendations/Reviews

Not even close. If anyone asked, I'd tell them skip Season 5 altogether. Jimmy's episodes at the 6666 Ranch salvaged Season 4 for me personally. I could only tolerate the Beth vs. Jamie storyline for so many episodes.

And so much for "not an inch".

I pretty much agree. I think they wrapped it up as well as they could without Costner, but it was also very predictable.

I tell people who haven't seen it to watch through season 4, episode 1, and beyond that you're not missing much.

The 3 biggest winners of the SNL 50 show:

1. Eddie Murphy / Still has his A Game.
2. Meryl Streep / Best line of the night.
3. Adam Sandler / Still funny with a heart.

Those three were great. So was Mr. Steve Martin's monologue.

Those three were great. So was Mr. Steve Martin's monologue.

The monologue was very good. Mulaney's NY bit was very good. I thought the look back at the most troubling SNL skits montage was a funny and kind of ballsy move. Debbie Downer is one of the best sketches of all time.....and this one made me laugh like they always do. Even De Niro looked like he was holding back laughs for a moment.

This is just a click bait article pushed to me, but I actually had the same thought about McCartney closing the SNL 50 show with Golden Slumbers > Carry That Weight > The End and the band Farley connection.

The original Chris Farley Show sketch with Macca is an all time favorite of mine.

Farley would have turned turned 61 on Saturday.

I thought that had to be a tribute to Farley the second he sang it as well. I still remember that sketch from over 30 years ago.

Loved this too. When they were introducing it, I didn’t think they were actually gonna show the bits. Pretty funny.

Finally finished Gangs of London. Think it might have been the most bloody and brutal series I have ever viewed. Loads upon loads of betrayal and some surprising, far fetched, twists..

Watched the first 2 episodes of Daredevil: Born Again. It was good. I like Charlie Cox as Daredevil.

I've only watched a couple episodes of Murderville so far. It's good.....nowhere near great.

On the other hand....I am a couple of episodes into the second season of 'For All Mankind'.....and it's GREAT. Admittedly....I love sci-fi....and space themed shows in particular. The story is very good and the acting is excellent. Not to take anything away from Ted Lasso....but this is the best of Apple TV+ thus far.
I recently bought a new iPhone and got 3 free months of Apple TV so we’re watching as much as we can before the free membership ends. Just finished the second season of For All Mankind and it is incredible. Apple has a lot of really good shows.

I would highly recommend Slow Horses while you have your Apple access. Very good in my opinion. Gary Oldman is just fantastic. If you're thinking of checking it out, I'd skip the series with Colin Farrell called "Sugar". I really like Farrell, and it was disappointing.

I haven't checked out much on Apple; I basically remember to check it out every couple months when I don't have something that really jumps out at me on Netflix or Prime.

Yeah that is next. Wife and I are also watching Home Before Dark and that’s pretty good so far too.

I've heard nothing but good things about 'Slow Horses'. It's on my list.

Anyone happen to check out the first episode of MobLand?
Some big names in it. Tom Hardy (Who is also one of the producers), Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan.
Think you can maybe foretell who is going to get whacked by how many episodes they appear in on the IMDB site.

Finished up the 8th of 9 episodes of Daredevil: Born Again
Good series and ended the last episode with a really good song.

Watched Tom Hardy in a couple of clunker movies the past 6 months or so, The Bikeriders and Venon: The Last Dance, so a little down on him. Tell you though, he is really good in MobLand. Renewed my faith. Only been two episodes so far, but he seems to carry every scene he is in. Fits the role to a t.

I liked the cast/characters and the setup for this season, but it has really been slow moving and underwhelming so far. Hoping the finale is much better.
Well, what'd you think?

I agree the season felt slow ... I'm trying to remember how I felt about seasons 1 and 2 in that regard. The show is a slow burn with a lot of character development, in general.

I feel like I enjoyed season 2 more than season 3, but 3 was still solid for me. They're already signed on to do a season 4.

I don't mind the slow moving character development part of White Lotus, that's how pretty much every Taylor Sheridan show is as well, and I love those too.

I thought this season had a lot of potential, but the character development was too slow or non-existent for most of it. It felt disjointed, and I think as it played out, this season could have been done in about 3 episodes instead of 8.

The last episode just abruptly ended everything, and was mostly predictable. I could tell what Mike White was trying to do, I just think it was poorly executed. Seasons 1 and 2 were much better, but I will still be excited to see what season 4 brings.

Speaking of Taylor Sheridan, I just watched the finale of 1923 the other night, and I thought that show was wrapped up perfectly. Although it's very dark at times, I really enjoyed those 2 seasons.
