Gotta wonder if this commit and yesterdays could create some recruiting momentum with other recruits. Nothing attracts top tier talent like other top tier talent.

Getting Connor Mayes would be absolutely amazing. I've been pretty giddy about the Elmore news and it would be an impressive weekend of recruiting if we walked away with these two commitments.

Sucks to lose Hassenauer (if we really did), but if him committing elsewhere helped get a commitment from Mayes then it's not all bad. Big pick up. Can't help but think that the better offensive lineman we get the more likely it is that Jeff Jones stays committed.
 



This is soooooo awesome.

Jeff Jones still worries me, but getting a guy like Mayes should help Jones stay solid. Kill and his staff are on a roll!

I know Hassenhauer's HC has said that it isn't official, but if JC ends up at Bama, you can't really blame him. I was a little surprised that Alabama would look so far north for a kid who doesn't have elite size. Don't get me wrong, I think he can flat out play and I think he'll be a good OL for Bama or wherever he goes. However, sometimes the guys without ideal profiles don't the recruiting buzz that they might deserve. So I am a little surprised that Bama is going after a 6'2" OL from MN, but JC is good. Hopefully he doesn't commit there and stays home.

Getting Mayes in the door can't hurt.....would be one hell of a coup to get Mayes and keep JC and Ragnow at home..

Same here. Kudos to Kill and his staff for developing a great relationship with the Mayes family.
 

Mayes' commitment is huge! We got a higher rated center than JC, so if he feels like turning his back on his home state, we can all say "go 'f' yourself...we don't need you!"
