Could MN land two straight big 3's? First Chicago and then Minnesota? The great 6?
No

Ellis and Schliling are going to be good players, but I do not see Foster being anything than a Ingram at MN (which is not a terrible thing).
I was going to say, this year's Ingram has been great in bench minutes and one of the most improved players this year.

As much as I want him to sign here. If I'm a recruit and I have the option to play for Izzo or Tubby. I'm choosing Izzo every single time.
per Doogie:
Palm Beach State Juco assistant coach Ben Servidio on his player, former Texas commitment and 6-foot-9 forward Kevin Thomas: "Minnesota offered a scholarship to Kevin Thomas back in November, but due to Minnesota's needs at forward, they also recently indicated that they offered a scholarship to a freshman small forward with the same body type as Kevin's -- long, slender and can elevate. They still send mail constantly and are still interested, but they have put him on the backburner, it seems, for the time being. Kevin's recruitment has picked up in the last few months, receiving offers from Nebraska, Oregon State, Seton Hall and Western Kentucky."

Go Gophers!!

The problem with Ingram is that he is another player that you don't have to guard beyond 5 feet from the basket. He has played hard, but he's not the kind of player you are going to go far with.
Not if the player was a freshman coming from a JUCO which is the latest mystery player we are after. It would actually help provide some more balance and would make that class only the juco player and Ellenson. The bad thing about bringing in a JUCO is that would put six scholarship players in that class.

I guess the "mystery recruit" is no mystery at all. Someone asked Doogie about it on Twitter and he said the player referred to in the quote was Alex Foster.
Can't see him picking us especially with the uncertainty surrounding Tubby's job.
Whoever the new guy is will have a lot of free schollies though.
Payne is only a Junior and doubt that he would get drafted!
Unless Sparty makes a Final Four run, my hunch is Payne will come back for his senior season. However, I have no doubt he'd be drafted if he came out this year. Just within this season he's improved more than any player in the Big 10, except for probably Oladipo. I think the NBA will like a 6-10 power forward who can hit a face-up jumper as well as jump out of the gym.
If Payne returns, I'd tab MSU as the team to beat in the B1G in 2013-14. That assumes Oladipo, Zeller, Burke, Thomas, and (perhaps) Hardaway all leave early. And Iowa will be a bear next season. Was really impressed in Chicago with how hard McCaffery's team plays. His guys leave it all out on the floor.
Payne's stock is climbing fast...He'd be late 1st rounder if the draft were today. If he keeps playing well and helps lead MSU to the Final 4, I think he'll be 15th or so. His shooting range has expanded since getting pummled by Dawson...Maybe Rodney should take a punch from Trev? lol
Please tell more about this Dawson ass kicking of Payne
A little scrum among teammates occurred before Sparty's game at Penn State. Just a little fisticuffs between on-campus roomates that resulted in a hole in the wall at the team hotel. Not a big deal. MSU actually started playing better after that happened.
I think I remember hearing something like that maybe Chris Allen or Korie Lucious. At least Dawson punched his own teammate this time. A week earlier he punched Travis Carroll of Purdue in the gut after dunking on him and the league did nothing because it's Izzo.
Didn't Izzo have to boot a player a few years ago for sleeping with another teammates girlfriend? Also, Izzo helped cover up a rape allegations involving his players.
I think Izzo is a great coach, but he's not exactly providing the "family atmosphere" everyone continues to applaud him for.
