Notice many of the coaches at highly successful private schools and what they 'supposedly' make.
Those schools don't have to "report" anything and are not subject to open record requests to release contract details.
Many of these private schools create "booster clubs" that supplement the coach's income, sometimes doubling it from what is reported the school is paying. Sometimes the same happens at public schools, but they have to disclose the total amount on request from media agencies. Private ones generally do not.
Like with all of their success, do we really believe that Mark Few has stayed at Gonzaga all these years to make less than $3 million per year? Or, that Shaka Smart is only making $2.2 million at Marquette after making almost $4 million at Texas and leaving on his own with 2 years left on his Longhorn deal and a nearly $8 million buyout if Texas fired him? Or, Greg McDermott turned down Ohio State twice to "settle" for $2.3 million at Creighton?
Nope, they are all making way more than that.
