2023 College Basketball Transfer Portal Watch Thread

We only need to add guards that are potential starters. We have Ramberg, Purcell and perhaps another for practice. A true 5 is all we need for practice.

I think you should add to that "player X who despite being 100% healthy played under 3 minutes per game last year" if you added that to those 3 I'd definitely take over 2.5
Conway Twitty lll is coming from to be the back-up center. Then give Ramburg, Purcell and Reader scholarships and we're good to go!

I wonder if Ben & Company dropped out of the race. At least there aren't any Big Ten schools listed there. Entering the NBA draft also adds a big element of uncertainty and a long delay. You have to wait around until late June until the player makes a decision. I'd probably be tempted to resolve the situation sooner and drop out of the race if I were the coach.

As great as Perry would be to get, I'd be very happy with either Wrightsell or Harris. They're underclassmen too which means you likely don't have to do this again next year.

Okay, who is Wrightsell? Not seen his name until the last few minutes on this thread.

Maybe that banned poster who was all like "shut it down and burn all the evidence" was/is onto something

All in on Wrightsell for now...obviously still some guys entering the portal yet, like the guard out of FSU. But for the guys we know we're in on, all Wrightsell.

I guess what we have to hope for is that our major competitors run out of roster spaces.

There are other guards out there who have entered the portal but haven't committed yet who are worth a serious look.

If you're talking about Matthew Cleveland from FLA ST, I don't think there is a chance in hell that he would come here. He was a 5 star recruit coming from high school (RSCI #22), his college numbers have been pretty decent, he's a southerner, and his former team just had a pretty lousy season.

It would be fascinating to see what the inner workings of transfer portal recruiting look like. I have to believe it is mass chaos constantly monitoring who is in the portal and then trying to quickly vet them and determine if they are a good fit and gettable. All while still watching to see who else might become available and also making sure your current players don't leave.
