OFFICIAL: Minnesota vs Syracuse in Pinstripe Bowl

Blech. Awful. I want to see some of the people that assured us last year (when the Gophers got screwed equally bad) that these things even out.

And if you dare say the Gophers “deserved” this, take your lack of knowledge and jump off a bridge.

Every F’ing year. And the most insulting thing is the annual parade of teams with worse records, teams the Gophers have beaten, etc. etc. getting much more desirable bowls.

I don’t get how people defend this bowl. Even if it’s a “fair” selection (it’s not), it’s just an objectively bad bowl.

No one wants to watch a cold weather mid-workday game in a bland baseball stadium. Especially against a non-football school.

I truly thought we'd get the benefit of the doubt after last year. But with Maryland having been in the Pinstripe last year....the Big Ten decided that Minnesota was going to get the short stick for a second year in a row. It's a really shitty situation that the conference seems fine with dumping on your team year after year.

Well Iowa beat us and Maryland is in a lower bowl right?

We beat Wisconsin and Purdue last year with the same record as them and got passed. Iowa beat us this year....but had a worse record at 7-5.

And no. The Mayo Bowl is clearly the better game. Better location and opponent (#23 NC State).

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone say they really like this bowl.

The difference between the Pinstripe, Mayo and Music City is really not all that much. Except that it is in a "cold" location, New York is a far better city than Charlotte or Nashville. There isn't a whole helluva lot in Charlotte and I can't stand country music.

Totally underwhelming. Totally disappointing.
Cold weather bowl, cold, expensive city. Football on a baseball field. Crappy time slot.

Huh? You'd rather play your bowl game in the snow on baseball turf/basically soccer pitch? F that. I'd play in Charlotte or Nashville 10/10 times. NYC is an expensive dump.

I’m not happy but it’s my day off. I’ll watch.

In your opinion but not in the selection order. It’s like arguing about shit or piss with these low level bowls anyway.

No true Gopher fan in their right mind can accept this travesty of justice. Wish good weather to those attending but I’m not taking off work to watch it. DISRESPECTED!!!

I totally agree with you.

3 bowl games in a row getting jumped by at least 1 team with a worse record. At some point it's no longer a coincidence.

I know it won't happen but I'd love to see Fleck and Coyle stop the good PR responses and call out the Big Ten for favoritism. There's no way one of their special teams would have this happen.
