Official 2022 Gophers Football Recruiting Thread: Links, Tweets, Videos, Rumors

We don’t need to reach on a player when we are already extremely deep at a position, regardless of where he is from.
Our depth at RB heading into 2022 has a lot of unknowns but I agree that we are not at a point where we need to reach on a player just because he is from here at that position.

Heading into 2022 we know we have a great 1-2 punch in Ky and Bucko. Outside of that we know Mo will be back but how close he will be to the Mo we know and love remains to be seen. Williams would seem likely to be back in the mix and then there is the question mark of Potts.

One scholarship RB seems fine for the 2022 class and who knows, maybe Johnson doesn't get any power 5 offers and decides to be a PWO here and try and earn his spot.

Just a guess on my part, Potts football career is over

Maybe, but for now he is still listed on the roster so they must at least think there is a chance he comes back.
could be listed on the roster until he graduates. this is what the basketball team did with jarvis johnson

Why is Potts career over?
didn't say it was. Was just responding to another poster who said they thought his career was over. Given that we still have no details on what actually happened I think anything in possible in regards to his future with the team.

Except for a twitter posting of pictures, showing him playing, we have heard nothing. Speculation at the time was that he had a punctured lung. After you have a punctured lung, you have an increased chance of doing it again, especially in the first few months afterward. Medically, things could still be up in the air, until sometime in January. It's pure speculation, but having to stay in the hospital for awhile after the injury seems to fit the narrative.

i agree anything is possible, I for one would be surprised

considering all the harmful speculation, I probably should've just kept quiet. I have no info,

The reason it is likely is the fact it does not appear to be a football injury. That would then indicate a health issue. Football injuries heal. Health issues can remain indefinitely.
What makes you think it’s a health injury be a football injury? Didn’t he leave the game because he got injured?

I'm sure there are some football injuries that don't heal and remain... Feel like I've heard stories from former college and pro players about lifelong issues related to football injuries.

looks like we're focusing in on the OL to close out

If I wasn't 'Runnin on Empty' I would have driven the 3 miles to SRVHS to see Jackson and the Fleckster. Obviously I really wouldn't have done that but I am 3 miles away from this high school. My kids went to Monte Vista, which is another high school in Danville and 3 miles the other direction and one that Zach Ertz attended before going to Stanford and getting drafted by the Eagles.

He did not appear injured when he left the game. Got no attention from trainers until several minutes later.

Does anyone have a list of the Transfer Portal prospect that the Gophers have offered?

Noticed that the receiver we must be trying to flip from Wake Forest was just bumped to a 4*. Hopefully Fleck can flip him.

Iowa landed one of the top players in the country…hopefully fleck can land someone similar!
