All Things Bowl Game Speculation

I just don't want Alabama - not because of football reasons - but I think we get screwed in the media coverage / narrative. I want the media to be all about us as the feel good story. Not about how many Alabama players are going pro. And not about Suban whining.

Football wise - I am thrilled to challenge any of them. Just prefer to avoid the Alabama media BS.
Kinda glad I'm planning to travel.

Do not look forward to the play by play coverage of all bama all the time.

Going back to Detroit for another win would be so much better for the program and it would impress recruits too. Gopher fans never get anything nice.

What does PK Subban have to do with anything?

10-3 will be exactly what we did in 2003. No better, no more progam changing, no more popular with recruits, certainly the press and many fans will be pointing out for the next 11 months how we lost three out of four "once reality was restored when we started playing real teams". The Mrs and I will be there screaming our lungs out as we always do, either way. Go Gophers!!! Beat those yucky New England Patriots!!!
Now you’re just embarrassing yourself.

I think WI deserves the Rose Bowl more than PSU - but would love to see them get stuck in the Cotton vs a G5 team.

You can make arguments both ways to be honest. I don't think WI should be punished for an extra loss because they played an extra game. WI won the west so that should mean something. At the same time, they had by far the worst loss.

I think WI will be picked but wouldn't be surprised with Penn St either.

Help - do we really have to watch this show for two more hours to get bowl selections? I haven't watched since 2014.

Agreed. I have no clue who will be picked, but I think WI is the better team (I would pick them if I had a vote). Their loss was bad, but they have been very strong otherwise. I just think they are better than PSU.

I believe they will announce the rest of the NY6 bowls at 2pm. The rest will be announced periodically after that.

Man, time is moving slower than at work waiting for a Saturday game. Circle back here to find only 30 minutes have ticked off.

OMG... that show is taking forever to get past #4.
It is clear to me that most general sports fans only care about the 4 team playoff.

Or, maybe they don't know their audience very well and are focusing on the wrong stuff.

Over the history of college football, many great seasons were achieved at the hands of favorable schedules. Nothing new.
And in those great seasons they had to eventually beat someone to win a conference championship or a Big bowl game. Otherwise what is great.

Wow. PSU hoping for Rose and gets Cotton vs Memphis.

Barry? Barry Alvarez? Is that you?

"How are those creative plays working in the second half? I particularly just enjoyed the QB keeper where he stood still and pretended that the ball had disappeared. But then there was the time where they punted so creatively as well." Veristas

"Now its looking like the Badgers will be outscored in the second half by about 137 to 0. Don't really good coaches make positive changes at half time and add more creative plays? I thought that was the key to winning games? Or did they just "decide to play to lose instead of playing to win"? I never know exactly how these sure fire thumb nail strategies are supposed to work." Veritas

"You bet. The team with the better players had they rear ends set on fire at halftime and are knocking the snot out of inferior team. Have you failed to notice that nothing is working for the Badgers now and most everything is working for the other team? Football 95% of the time is about basic blocking, tackling and talent. Not trick plays. " Veritas

"What one stadium in the Big Ten would you be most afraid to take your nine year old daughter to a game in if she was not cheering for the home team? As one couple in Nebraska once asked me, "What is it about Badger fans?" Not all Badger fans are drunken idiots, but the best drunken idiots are many Badger fans. I do not know why. " Veritas

Perhaps, just perhaps, GopherDog1, you may not be the most perceptive dog in the pack. But, hey, conspiracy nuts seldom are noted rational thinkers.

Fleck can take a lot of the sting out of losing to Iowa and Wisconsin by winning this game.
