Well obviously with our long home non-conference winning streak, we haven't been losing to them in basketball (and hopefully not today either), but I think both NDSU and SDSU have been to the NCAA tournament in the past 5 years or so, so I think those two are at least decent mid-major programs. I think we played UND and beat them last year, don't remember the last time we played South Dakota.
 

This is a painful loss. I'm scared for the SDSU game.
 

Mason and King a combined 4-18 from the field? Damn.
 

Scared for sdsu? How about the big ten I think anything more than 4 big ten wins I would be astonished. This is the worse the gophers have been at center since I have been a fan.
 

We don't even get Home Cookin' against the Summit League.
 


Right now pretty hard to see pitino lasting past next year bad hire by a bad giy

There's Murphy's ability to get back up for rebounds showing itself. Two games in a row that we would have lost without him.

Big challenge for Mason here in OT. He's had a brutal afternoon. I think he has the ability to set it aside and make some plays in OT. Let's hope so.

Agreed, although King to a lesser extent -- his shot just isn't dropping today. At least he isn't hurting us the way MASON IS KILLING US.

Really disappointed in the lack of adjustments from Pitino. We need to do everything possible to get the ball to Murphy. Also, why not use our press more?
 

Just watching the gamecast. The Deidhiou/Konate combination has combined for 2 rebounds against South Dakota. Seems like they only look for really athletic centers for this system, problem is there aren't that many of those to be had. You end up with athletic guys with no skill.
 

Interesting Pitino started Konate in OT. Wonder if Murphy just need a break or if that was some long term coaching, trying to give Konate another chance to keep the confidence up.
 

Can coaches no longer call timeouts while the ball is in play? Also, thought the 5 second rule was done

It's pathetic to bitch about reffing against USD, but this is a bit ridiculous.

The refs have decided USD deserves to win. I guess they do. Just end it already.
 


This is unbelievable. I've never seen anything like it.
 

We have 31 free throws taken to their 14. We are out rebounding them as well. SD is also only 5-17 on three pointers. How can we be doing this poorly? 5-21 on 3s? Why do many against a school you should be ale to get easy shots on?
 

Gotta add my complaints about the reffing. Cannot figure out what they are thinking on a lot of these. Now they give us a gift and send Dorsey to the line.

I wish I could see for myself. How can it be that bad though when they've called 8 more fouls on them than us?

I'm not complaining that they're screwing us. I'm just complaining that they are calling it way, way too tight.
 

This won't be the only home non conference game we lose. What a sad state in year 3.
