The Michigan loss could be a tipping point. Too many cooks on offense.
And one clock to manage.

I think the fact the Claeys was decisive and made the decision that he feels is best for the program shows that he is not in over his head at all. He witnessed deficiencies in the offense from inside the program and took action.
Bottom line is if Coach Z was getting the job done he'd be here. If he wants to prove he was capable he has every opportunity in the world to do so. At any job you either make yourself indispensable or you risk being let go, especially a coaching job after a coaching change. Sounds like complacency may have set in a bit with him
Yep. And if he was a good passing game coordinator and QB coach, he'd probably have another D1 job. I don't care much for all the sour grapes when someone gets let go. I'm manage a bank and have had to let people go. Do your job and you get to stick around. Don't do your job, and well, let's just say you find someone better.
Claeys handled the firing like a jerk. After all of the years Zebrowski had with Kill and Claeys he deserved more of an explanation than a quick, "just want to go in a different direction". You are all giving Kill a pass on the poor performance of the offense. There is very little doubt that Kill was heavily involved with offensive personnel decisions, putting together the game plans, and play calling during the game. Limegrover and Zebrowski had nowhere near the freedom to do their jobs that Kill gave to Claeys.
Why is it that oftentimes the coach being fired is the only one "shocked?" I don't think any fans were shocked at all that Claeys parted with Limegrover and Zebrowski. It was a rational decision and the writing was on the wall.
Same with Tubby. Yes, it sucks to be let go, but don't these people have any self-awareness?
Maybe, just maybe, having one play caller would have saved fourteen of the nineteen seconds that were wasted on the Michigan two-yard line. It would have been nice to be the team that holds the Little Brown Jug in their trophy case for the next five years and not have to play Michigan once to keep it.

Sorry, but my research the day after the game showed at least a three year gap between the next time we played Michigan. I guess you ate smarter than all the GHers, put together. We play Michigan in 2017. I'm shocked you didn't know that, you being such a big Gopher fan and all.
What does Tubby have to do with this? Tubby and f'in Jim Zebrowski are on such opposite ends of the spectrum that it's hilarious you even put them in the same post.

Like a jerk? Firing, or letting people go, is never pleasant. A manager doesn't fire the employee. The employee fires themselves by not preforming or doing something unethical. That's life, especially in Coaching in FBS College Football. Put your big boy pants on and get used to it.
You know the point was about coaches and their lack of self awareness. It's a solid point. Don't start pretending that he's comparing the two of them in any measure outside of the Platonic ideal of a high level coach. Your baiting sucks.

The old, "I have no idea why I was fired," one-sided media story.
They both got fired and were both surprised about it. Although in fairness to Tubby I think he saw it on ESPN before his meeting with Teague, so I could see him having beef about how it was handWhat does Tubby have to do with this? Whatever happens down the road it was nice to see Claeys willing to pull the trigger quickly and make the call. It has to be his team the best he can make it if we're to find out what he can do.
“The best title I could have is offensive line coach; that’s what I was put on this Earth to do. So I’m in such a good place right now, both physically and mentally.”
“With Tracy making the decision, I understood because I felt I wasn’t giving what each side needed to have, as far as being a coordinator and being an offensive line coach,” Limegrover said. “I felt that way.”
Well done, Coach Claeys

Right. The difference is that Zebrowski shouldn't have been surprised, while Tubby should've been.
The lengths to which people (not you) will go to inject their Tubby hatred into totally unrelated subjects is bizarre.
