lofton is choosing a school either tomorrow or Tuesday according to twitter
 

He's a Gopher. Book it. The only question is whether he is walking on the first year or scholarship all three years.

I have no sources. Just reading the writing on the wall.

Must have, he then tweeted that the gophers have offered Zach.

ZACH LOFTON ANNOUNCING MONDAY OR TUESDAY

Zach Lofton tells The Gopher Report that he’ll be committing Monday, the 21st, or Tuesday, the 22nd.

“I don’t know where I’m committing yet for sure,” Lofton told The Gopher Report.

Most expect the Illinois State transfer to commit to the Gophers, though, as Minnesota was his only visit.

Zach also informed TGR that he holds an offer from Minnesota.
 

Hmmmmmm some interesting late night tweets/posts from last night. Should be interesting to see what happens. Perfect world = Martin+Konate so if Lofton doesn't commit, I'm ok with it.
 




Sounds like a lock. It will be good for him to have Pitino work with him for a year and teach him shot selection and learn the system. Good scorers aren't easy to find.
 






Sounds like he is a lock to Minnesota... I like it.. I kinda like that he has to sit out a year and learn from pitino... he is a great scorer another year to grow up alittle bit more.

I like it too. Hope he signs. However, I think getting Justin Martin (or another graduate transfer/JC transfer who can score) is a huge priority now - much more so than Konate. We really need another scorer for this upcoming season.

Ummm...it appears like this guy effed up and tweeted this. Maybe Lofton told that to him in confidence. Looks like Lofton is out.

The tweet you're referring to looks like something that would have gone out last year. Maybe there was some technical malfunction, or he cut and paste the wrong thing accidentally. Either way, there's no indication it was anything other than a mistake.

What makes you think it was a tweet from last year? The time stamp clearly states that it was tweeted today. I don't remember Lofton's name ever coming up last year either.

If they can get Martin, and get Lofton to pay his way for just next year, then they can have Konate too. That's the best case scenario. They need a big in the fold badly. It takes big guys a while and we have nothing for the year after next at center- unless Gaston plays the 5.

Because it's a non-sensical thing to say right now, given everything else that's out there, and it was immediately deleted and corrected. And because it would be last year around this time that he would've gotten a scholarship "somewhere in Illinois."

I just don't see how someone would accidentally tweet something from a year ago.

But for him to specifically say that he isn't signing with the Gophers but instead with an Illinois program? I think it is a major stretch for you to think this could possibly be from last year.
