Yahoo: Sources: Arkansas to hire Bret Bielema!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dang it, he was so easy to hate! Hope this springs decades of uncertainty on their program though :)

Just saw this. Are you sure this isn't March 31?

The wicked witch is dead...

...Or just further south.

CBSSports also has a breaking news story about it. Seems legit.

I wonder if Dorean now regrets going to NC State? Would he have been a Badger candidate?

Or, does Pitt once again get left high & dry (by Chryst)?

Don't believe it for a minute. Coach Bielema was just at my family's establishment, The Essen Haus, this past Sunday night drinking out of a 5 liter stein that I had personally engraved for him for winning the 2012 Big 10 football championship. The stein was engraved with the following, "It's a Great Day to be a Badger." He took it home and said it will be one of his most cherished gifts and will always be displayed upon his fireplace mantle.

I think one of the reasons he was transferring is that he was starting to really resemble Bucky Badger, but then I think, "Why would anyone want to resemble a razorback hog?"

Curious to see how the search goes in Wisconsin if this is indeed true.

I can only hope that Lane Kiffin is the next coach of the BADgers, I just can't imagine Sconnie without a gigantic *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# as coach.

Bielema to Arkansas

Wave of Coeds start to transfer from Fayetteville!

His desire to stick it to Tim Brewster on the field knows NO bounds.....

Keelon Brookins anyone?

Good question on all of the Badger recruits. I think they have less than 20 scholarship slots this year, but they've put together a pretty good class. Curious to see if any of the recruits follow him if, and I'm stating this again, this is true.

I hate Bielema but it is pretty sad that an SEC program that is historically between 3-5 in their division (put them behind Bama, LSU but along side Auburn, Texas A&M) is viewed as a better location than the school that won the Big Ten 3 years in a row.

Off the top of my head there are only two things that could make a guy want to do this:

1. boatload of money
2. Perhaps he was closer to getting fired than many people thought back in 2008 and it pissed him off.

Just me speculating from a place far, far away from BB.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Bielema, as much as I can't stand him, has a good thing going at Wisconsin. Agree with the others. ... Arkansas must have offered him a king's ransom.

I agree, but SEC football almost takes on religious overtones. It's a conference that seems to be full of athletic shrines.

I believe Jerry Jones was ready to throw a bunch of money at a new coach. I am sure he will be getting a very large pay raise. And my thought that those from the south have low IQs just gained more traction.

interesting to see what the dollar amount is going to be.

Wisky is flyover country. Arkansas is a much better job than Wisconsin.

It may be due to the fact that he is too fat to jump around. Forget who originally wrote that, but it was funny either way.

Yeah, it was nice having Minnesota, Indiana, Purdue, NW, Illini on the schedule. Things will be much tougher in the SEC.

It will be interesting to see what his reasons are. Wisconsin is one of the top football programs in this conference and he leaves it to go to what is most years, an average team at best in the SEC. I find it hard to believe that Wisconsin wouldn't try to match whatever the dollars turn out to be. If Bielema steps up to the mike and says, "you know, this is the best conference in the country and I want to test myself against this league each and every week", I will have found some respect for him.

I won't hold my breath though........

someone on the badger board said they were offering 6 mil to peterson and patterson. beilema has to be pushing 5 mil a year.

I think he told the Arkansas AD in April he wanted the job, but wouldn't leave until after the season.
Just what I'm hearing.
