They’re certainly doing their best impression of the Don Morton era tonight. It’s hilarious they’re doing a throwback to the shittiest era in the long history of their program.
Damn....that is harsh.....fair.....but harsh.....
Here is the real deal on WI football. When they are winning, they get a lot of in-state support from people in the surrounding area that will cheer for anything associated with the state. This is critical because a huge percentage of the WI students are not from the area and immediately leave after graduation.Has anyone seen the message boards on Bucky today, after losing to Mich? Just wondering what their tone is?
They just need to be patientFickell has stated this year would be rough but the plum is next year.
It’s wisconsin. Is Wisconsin officially the worst team in the Big Ten? With the UCLA win, it feels like a discussion between Purdue, Northwestern and Wisconsin.

Better fans. They were always so classy just like their coach and heir apparent card says go for two.Blanked by Iowa 37-0....and their next two games - Ohio State and Oregon.....couldn't happen to a better program.![]()
Give him an extension now.Fickell has stated this year would be rough but the plum is next year.
Almost always how rivalry games start to go. Think much of it depends on relative health of the teams. Team will be different with Edward’s playing if he does again at some point this yearI still think they’ll give all the Gophers can handle at the end of the year

I think there is a chance there is a forfeit because their whole team has quitI still think they’ll give all the Gophers can handle at the end of the year
Probably. They might treat a season-ending trophy game like their Super Bowl, like we did in 2001 and 2010, to at least end a bad season on a high note.I still think they’ll give all the Gophers can handle at the end of the year

Will be very interesting to see who delivers a bigger beat-down. I’ll be watching.Blanked by Iowa 37-0....and their next two games - Ohio State and Oregon.....couldn't happen to a better program.![]()
I think Oregon probably will deliver the bigger beatdown only because Day is less likely to try and run it up in general. Plus Lanning is going to be motivated to win big in order to try and offset the loss to Indiana with blowout wins. Will be very interesting to see who delivers a bigger beat-down. I’ll be watching.
Payback for 83-20 back in 2010 when Bert ran up the score?I think Oregon probably will deliver the bigger beatdown only because Day is less likely to try and run it up in general. Plus Lanning is going to be motivated to win big in order to try and offset the loss to Indiana with blowout wins.
I honestly wonder what they are going to look like by the time they get to our game....
Ohio State
Oregon
Washington
Indiana
Illinois
It would be tough to put together a much tougher 5 game stretch leading up to our game. 3 top 10 opponents for a team that is already running out their #3 QB and facing the prospects of a winless conference season.
And good lord.....can you imagine what Cignetti is going to try and do to them? He may try and hang 100 on them.
I have a business partner who has skunk season tickets. Neither she or her husband went to Madison but two of her three kids did. And they loved the atmosphere on campus and make the trip to Madison for "home" games from Mankato. I wonder how long they'll hang on to their tickets with the current state of skunk football? Here is the real deal on WI football. When the other state sports are doing well like the Packers and Brewers then interest in the Badgers drops very low because again, there is very little actual tie to the school via attending it.
This is the spiral that the Badgers are in now - the state has other things to cheer for and the Badgers start to take a distant 3rd place at least as long as the Brewers are still alive. I suspect you will start to see more and more empty seats at Camp Randall like it was prior to Alarvez. They are a victim of their own past success as until they start to replicate that again, general WI fan interest will not return.
So, while the message boards may be vocal - the only way anything gets down at WI is if the general non-WI attending fans demand action and - as I said above - they are turning a blind eye as there are better options to cheer for in the state at the moment. I could see WI entering another couple decade descent into mediocrity.
If an atmosphere of vomit and intoxication is your thing go for it. Be careful where you step and check who you step over. You have to see if they are still breathing.I have a business partner who has skunk season tickets. Neither she or her husband went to Madison but two of her three kids did. Their stadium will be half empty within the next 3 years if this current state of play continues. For these people, did they like Wisconsin before their kids attended? I am curious as half the people I know (I am from Green Bay) actually still cheer for the Badgers after their kids got rejected there.I have a business partner who has skunk season tickets.
