Well as a UW fan I do not see the U of Minnesota games as a huge rivalry...UW vs OSU, sure but not UW vs U of Minnesota. Also, college football is a different beast, but I would not expect somebody who has never played college athletics to understand college athletics. Good job, good effort.

Well, as a UW fan for 50+ years, I DO see the U of Minnesota games as a huge rivalry in all sports in which we both have teams. Even in the down years of one or the other school, losing to Minnesota feels worse than winning feels good. That is the definition of a rival.

So, I agree that while you can MAYBE be a fan of both, one takes precedence. Who do you cheer for when they play each other? Unless you have a kid on both teams, saying "both" doesn't cut it.
