Where is Shaka?

He wasn't at the Jimmy John's in Eden Prairie from noon to 12:45 today nor was he at the Super America gas station in Mendota Heights around 7 AM this morning.

That's a really good gas station. If Shaka wasn't there at 7am, I have to admit, I am a little concerned.

He didn't eat at jimmy johns. We've already ruled out subway (fewer $5 footlongs and changes in the way they cut the bread). The Vu's hot dog buffet doesn't begin until late night. Where the heck is this guy eating?

I do agree that if the media intensity will pick up on Smart in the next 24 hours and will force his hand a bit. He appears to be the #1 choice for two schools, his team isn't playing and he has a close tie-in with us. The longer this stays quiet, the stronger the likelihood of something being worked in in the background.

I had a guy posted at Amtrack on main. problem is, Amtrack is on 4th, so maybe he slipped by us on the way to meet Norwood in Alexandria somewhere.

Good point Bleed. I agree, we will hear something within the next 24 hrs. Either he commits here, UCLA, or makes a comment about not leaving VCU.

So many questions!!! We are going to need more help! There was a thread on the FB side about McD's in Dinkytown, anyone on that?
 

I have eyes on him at the Tate Laboratory of Physics. He is speaking with some foreign exchange students and appears to be using hand motions to explain the theory of relativity.

This guy is not just a one trick pony.
 



I saw him in The Depot tavern, wolfing down a tray of diamond dogs - i think he thought there was a contest? Rumors has it they're going to reveal his new star tonight, on the wall outside of First Avenue.
 

My friend claims to have interviewed him for a job at the Kowalski's on Grand Ave. this afternoon. Sounds like he might not get the job but he told one of the bag boys that "I'm also applying for something at the U if this doesn't work out."
 

On a more serious note, if he turns down UCLA, what job would he take?

I'm assuming he does not plain to be at VCU forever. Once you've said no to NC State, Illinois, Minnesota and UCLA, there's a vanishingly short list of more attractive programs. And there's no guarantee his star will remain undimmed for the next few years.

Assuming he continues to win regularly, he'll have options. Some of the old stalwart coaches are getting along in age. I don't think he can wait forever, but I don't think there's a huge rush to leave this year if he's not ready or doesn't like what's out there.

hmmm, i thought they boarded at the old depot near main and broadway but apparently it's near the empire.

Walleye season ended on February 24. I, for one, would hate to pursue a coach who so brazenly disregards the future stocks of Minnesota's prized fisheries.

I have it from insiders that he is at a bar called Bogarts in Richmond in order to watch two VCU fans go at it.
 

I heard from a very reliable source that Shaka was last seen departing on a schooner flying a blue, white, yellow, red, and green flag.
 

Shaka has been sited at Pam Bortons house drinking banana daiquiris and playing twister with her "friends"
