Isn't this what SH was trying to avoid when he bailed on USC for Miami? Now what does he do? If I were him, I'd transfer and sit out this season since he is unlikely to play anyway due to his back problems.

Well, his top three choices were USC, OSU and Miami. Those three have hall been in trouble since then. Not surprising.

Ok, don't take this the wrong way, but ... does anyone feel like our previous coach was maybe involved with some of the same activities we've seen come out? It's no secret he was brought on for his recruiting prowess and he probably had his fair share of contacts in a lot of these same circles. I sincerely hope this wasn't the case, but I do wonder some times ...

No, b/c we don't have crazy boosters who toss around cash like candy and being a FB player at the U doesn't make you a god in the same way being one does in a place like Columbus.

Anything the U has had going on with extra bennies at any point pales in comparison to this story or any of the other ones we've seen come out in recent years.

No, there were about 125 other violations Musselmans staff committed.
The NCAA has not been as severe on minor stuff, but the chronic violators and liars get whacked big time.
Based on Brewster's recruiting results, I don't think we have a pervasive problem. The fact we lost every time we came up against oregon, before they were nearly as "hot" as they are now, was no coincidence, in my opinion.

I have no reason to make any such accusations without a shred of evidence. Besides, had their been wrong doing, I don't think it would have been covered up, I've not seen any indication that our local media is inclined to participate in coverups.

Didn't we beat out Oregon for Queis? That said, I have to wonder where we'd be if LaMichael James had come here instead of Oregon. Would Brew still be here maybe?
 





Just read the yahoo article. Wow. Recruits may want to scratch that school off their lists as there is a strong possibility of seeing the Death Penalty on this one.

that is crazy, I have to think that if one booster is doing it there probably is others involved too. Wonder if the Henderson's received anything (wasn't the family now living in a penthouse or something down in Miami, and didn't dad Henderson get some sort of rapping gig out of it? Could be wrong on that but thought there were actually photos of the place being sent around at one point.

It has death penalty written all over it, not only the football program but basketball too. I would guess they will loose 25% of their scholerships over four seasons and a couple of years of post season at the least.

This is absolutely crazy stuff. If you just look at the guy, he looks like a little scum bag. I guess we could send our recruits on a huge boat on Tonka, drive by Kim K.'s new place, haha.

Sadly, I have been thinking the same thing. I read the yahoo sports article and was spellbound for about 15 minutes until I got to the end. If this is all proven true (a major if) I am thinking that if Miami doesn't get the death penalty the death penalty simply no longer exists.
 

As one poster on the Texas forum stated: How in the **** can the NCAA compliance consistently get owned and outworked by Yahoo Sports????? Oh wait....because Yahoo Sports is the only one who actually tries to figure it out. I bet the NCAA is one who huge hack job that gets paid under the table too by the boosters.

Edit: Two more statements from the forum that are so hilariously true, they must be stated on this forum.

#1 "Seantrel Henderson's final 3 schools were USC, Ohio State and The U. I'm just sayin'.." I LOL'd

#2 "Ohio State @ Miami University is going to be hilarious this year." that will be hilariously embarrassing.

If the NCAA had any foresight, they would have penalties for the school, the coaches, and work with the NFL to punish players. Fine the school millions, suspend Haith, establish an ineligiblity clause for any player. Its merely a balancing of the cost/benefit analysis. If you want to do it, what is worst thing that could happen? And to compare this level to anything the Gophers ever did is laughable.
 

At least we now know why the life size cut-out didn't work its magic on Seantrel.
 

Unreal, but also not surprising.

Here's how you fix it.

DEATH PENALTY, hardcore, make it hurt bad, make it hurt so bad deep in the heart of Florida that schools in the SEC, ACC, anyone recruiting Florida is scared to death of having it happen again/cleans up any loose ends ASAP.
Make it hurt so bad that schools hire teams to oversee players off the field at all hours of the day, in all places.

Pay the players enough to be a normal college kid, not tons of money, but enough to hang out with friends comfortably, live a typical college existence comfortably.

Get the NFL involved, players that cheat in college get automatically penalized monetarily at the next level.

Make an early signing day for recruits, the longer they hang in the wind, the better chance for under the table crap.

Extreme, yes. Over the top, yes. It's the only way this is going to change.
Does the NCAA have the nuts to take this on? I'm going to say no.
Prediction: USC like slap on the wrist for Thug U, problems pop up in 5 years again.

And don't give me the 18 year old kids don't know right from wrong. I coach HS kids, they are smarter than most adults, they can make stupid choices, but they know right from wrong. Not an excuse.
