Welcome to BIG BOY Football

Continuing on this topic. There is no reason in the world that Minnesota cannot become a "helmet" school. It's a great academic institution on a big, big campus. It's in one of the great metropolitan cities in America. It has one of the best football heritages in NCAA history. We have an amazing corporate culture at our doorstep. We will soon have top notch facilities for the program. "Mesabi", like the iron range means sleeping giant. I guess because the iron ore is hidden and needed to be discovered. Well, the U of M may prove to be the Mesabi football program. A sleeping giant that just may be about to reawaken.

Iowa, Wisconsin and MSU aren't even considered helmet schools despite their success, resources, fan base and commitment to football. It would take at least 1-2 national championships and several more top 5 finishes for us to be considered a true helmet school like we were decades ago.

Hawkey was on Ch 11 as their guest sports expert the day before Fleck was announced. Was full of cliches and then he said something like "PJ would be a great fit in the Big Ten, which actually has 12 teams..."

Love the Powertrip but don't listen to it for sports. Those guys have all said multiple times on the air that they hate sports.

Also they would be the first to tell you the Powertrip isnt a sports show.

Well, they talk a lot of sports for not being a sports show. A LOT.

It's the worst sports talk show on the planet and that's the best thing they do.

JK. . . different strokes.

It really is a token to lose to Barnard, and feels like an inside joke they are not sharing.

Maryland and Rutgers cry.

I went to a Hawkey concert, it was more saccharine than Lee Greenwood.

Wait, there are multiple people having a conversation live on air? I thought it was just one person hitting a button bar the entire time.
