Week 11 Other Games Thread

Michigan vs Northwestern has been an embarrassment so far. Can't believe I'm still watching it. Why is the schedule set up so there are 3 big ten games at 11 am and only one at 2:30? It sucks.

But you almost have to keep watching. It's such an unbelievable succession of odd plays and misplays.

Notice the two Mississippi opponents today. What the world is up with that? I know SEC loves to throw in patsy games toward the end of the season, but...come on.

What's the difference between a patsy during week 10 vs. week 2? We play MTSU they play Presbyterian just on a different date. I just wish the B1G would make it a greater priority to move big time match ups earlier in the year and sprinkle out the patsies like the SEC does.

Im enjoying arizona State takjng Notre Dame apart right now

So apparently Notre Dame was a pretender...

Or maybe Arizona State is better than you thought?

Auburn is getting exposed at home by an average TAMU team that garnered 200 some yards offense, 3.3 yards per carry against Sunbelt also-ran ULM, a team they beat by 5 points. The SEC continues to underwhelm. If the Illinois loss can be held against us we can also point out these poor efforts by SEC teams.

Maybe, they're in the playoff discussion now with a pretty easy schedule until the championship. It'll be between them and Oregon for a playoff spot i bet.

Hopefully it's Oregon because there is a strib writer named Master who is annoying as hell about ASU on twitter.

I may have spoken too soon on ND. We got a ball game again.

I disagree for three reasons.

1. Imagine if, after today's big win over Iowa, we were playing Eastern Illinois instead of Ohio St. next week. What a letdown that would be.
2. Games early in the season tend to be pretty sloppy. I'd rather have the biggest games when it comes to the conference be later when the product is generally better. Having the Michigan St. - Ohio St. game in the first week or two would have sucked. Once the conference goes to 9 games, I'd be okay with some teams starting their conference schedule in week 3 but not earlier.
3. As far as the playoffs go, it is also a letdown in my opinion. You're right in the middle of the playoff discussion and then a top 5 team plays a no-name school.

Northwestern gonna go for 2 down one with 3 seconds left.

Those are all fair points. I guess my overall point is that it's not really fair to lament the fact that MSU or Ol' Miss are playing patsies right now when we all play patsies at some point in the season. As a viewer, though, I really do enjoy getting to watch big time SEC games from the get go. Hard for me to get excited to watch Michigan State play EMU.

I can't believe A&M is going to blow this freaking game. I hope they somehow hold on and LSU wins tonight.

Glad to see Notre Dame lose.

Agreed. But I would rather have good matchups between teams in difference conferences early on, and a game in week one not influence who goes to the conference championship.

I wish it would be a requirement for every power 5 team to have to play at least one other power 5 team in the nonconference schedule each year. Will never happen though.

Finally a bounce doesn't go Auburn's way as A&M recovers a fumble at their own 1.

Ha, the announcers sounded terribly disappointed when TAMU recovered the Auburn fumble. Playoff CHAOS plan in motion.

It's a huge call? I was under the impression referees don't influence games.

We could not be more aligned.

FUMBLE BY Auburn.

Was correct on the replay. The Auburn guy likely had it, but he lost it in the scrum and you couldn't possibly say for sure he had possession and was down. I've never seen a fumble scrum overturned.

Very dangerous play call from the Aggies right there that almost resulted in a safety.

What a stupid play call on 3rd down for A&M. They run a pitch sweep down by the goal line and Auburn almost got a safety.

I'd have liked a safety there. Get he ball out of the near 50.

Auburn might still win. MY goodness.

you can't take the safety, because then a field goal beats you. Better to kick

Time for Auburn to lose one of these.

Oh down goes another SEC darling.
