Wrong. There are other penalties relating to being across a line that are already reviewable (see below). No reason offside on an onside kick couldn’t be added to the list of reviewable fouls.

2024 NCAA Rulebook
Rule 12 Instant Replay

Reviewable Fouls

ARTICLE 8. The following plays are reviewable and the replay official may create a foul when there is no call by the on-field officials:

a. Player making a forward pass or forward handoff when the player’s entire body and the ball is or has been beyond the neutral zone or after a change of possession (Rule 12-3-2c and 12-3-2d).

b. Player kicking the ball when the player's entire body and the ball is or has been beyond the neutral zone.

Was more meaning this is very bang/bang subjective. The above are less so. I disagree with that it’s not. Easily could be same as VAR in soccer

c. Blocking by players of the kicking team before they are eligible to touch the ball on an onside kick (Rule 12-3-4e).

You write “wrong” but admit it is not reviewable and no reason it couldn’t be added. And then you cite rules that have nothing to do with the play where we got hosed.

He was trying to make a point about there already being other reviewable plays regarding being past the line of scrimmage so why not add another. There are already reviewable penalties as well. Personal fouls that can be targeting. We get some calls get missed. We're all just collectively upset since we only get a chance to actually beat Michigan once every 8-10 years. Games like this bring out the worst in us.

No it likely wasn't. But that wasn't why we lost. We lost because we gave a team that couldn't drive 80 yards and gave them two super short touchdowns.
This is such a weird take. Yes, it was a football game and we didn’t play perfect, thst is part of the game of football. Phantom calls like we saw today should not be part of the game.

This type of reasoning is just bizarre. You’re right. If nothing else bad happened all game, the phantom call wouldn’t have mattered. But isn’t the true of everything in every game?

You need to look at the extraordinary things that happened. I have watched a few games this weekend and I’ve seen a number of turnovers. I’ve yet to see an important call that bad.

Thst flag, while not the sole reason we lost (because that would be impossible), is the thing that should stand out to everyone. It’s the unusual thing. It’s the thing that shouldn’t be part of any game.

Ignore list. Done. Not sure how it took me this long to notice this guy but his content is a clear bee line to the ignore list.

Well, we have 4 weirdos who think the call was correct.
I don't think the call was right, and was as upset as anyone when it got made. But as someone pointed out, we got points on a drive where we got away with an obvious hands to the face. Kind of like when we get to the end of the year and people say "we were three plays away from three more wins." But usually we were also three other plays away from three more losses.

The sad part is i think I liked him recently. Now I have to put me on ignore.
I was the most positive guy on the entire board for years. About Ben building a BB team and Fleck giving us our first good teams.

But this off-season pushed me over my glutton-for-punishment limit. Payne & Hawkins bribed away made it official. As well as they don't even try to hide game rigging anymore. Plus paying for students goes against my ethics. Etc.

Bear with me, at least for a few months.

Agree but go back to the call on Illinois 2 years at Michigan. BIG love Michigan and PSU.

That ref should never be allowed to referee a game again. Penalties, like changed reviews, should only be on clear and obvious situations.

There are four (4) votes for "made the right call"??? How many times are we going to allow Bonin to vote?

It’s not why we lost, but it is why we didn’t get a chance to win in thrilling fashion.
