Tubby and Royce White met tonight at Vescios

He looked stressed out or sad just from watching his body language all night.

That's the life of a guy whose career/paycheck depends upon kids that tend to be: immature (RW), of questionable character (TM), incredibly egotistical/delusional (LW), dumb or lazy (AN).

I'm quite sure that Tubby is very unhappy with how this season has unfolded. He was executing his plan quite well it seemed (look back 9 months and remind yourself of how confident we all were). Then the bottom falls out as everyone heads to the "dunce floor" all at the same time. If I'm Tubby, I'm pissed.

Just take 3 impact players (2 sure starters, maybe 3) off any Big Ten team and let me know how they fare. Not. Too. Good.

Man, the OP and related follow-ups relating to RW's eligibility make his decision to quit school seem potentially one of the dumbest moves that he could have made.

We sitting here, Royce is supposed to be a franchise player, and we in here talkin bout practice?

All you have to do to play is the following:
1.) Have enough courses completed to graduate in 5 years. (ie 12 credits a semester)
2.) Maintain a cumaltive GPA above 1.69
3.) If you fail 8 credits in one semester you're on probation which you then need to 2.2 your next semester or a GPA that brings your cummaltive GPA above 1.69 again.
So as long as you maintain all these stipulations you can play

Since Royce hasn't played yet he has all 4 years of eligibility. He's just ahead of the game academically one semester so it helps requirement 1. Also he did well in his classes which helps requirement 2. However if he fails a bunch of classes if he re-enrolls he could become ineligible due to requirement 3, even though he still maintains requirements 1 and 2 from his previous schooling.

Then theres's more rules for practicing vs competing and other things. But basically that's all you have to do to compete.
Does that make sense?

For him to be eligible next Fall he would need to have "made progress" towards graduation whatever the heck that means. Since he will not have passed any credits this semester, one would think he would have to take a heavy summer course load to make up for it. It's not a matter of GPA, it's total credits/hours passed towards graduation.

What the hell do I know anyways. There has to be someone on this board that knows this stuff.

Not much.

From what you are saying then he would need 24 credits when fall semester starts. Not sure how many credits he carried this past fall semester, surely not 24 credits. He would probably need to pick up 12 credits between now and next fall to be eligible. Do I have this correct?

I think he took two summer classes before the fall semester, so it would probably be less than 12.

I would think his eligibility hasn't started yet since he hasn't played so technically he needs 0 credits but if i'm wrong then yes he'd need 24 credits. Usually people take more then 12 credits though. At the U of MN 13 credits is considered going full time. So even if this is the case he needs to take 11 to be eligible. I wonder if he can make up some of those credits during the fall semester. If he took 6-8 in the summer he'd have 3-5 more to make up so 15-17 in the fall. Anyway you slice it, it's very doable if he decided to come back.
