Did GW get a DUI?
Trevor being a dumb-ass and GW being an obsessed poser are not mutually exclusive.
He was "found guilty" based on a plea. The withholding of adjudication keeps him from being a felon.
Did a simple Mbakwe twitter search and GW is insisting everyone tell his side of the story, he must be pulling the little hair he has left out as everyone ignores him on twitter;
Tweets to FSN, Strib, PIP, ESPN trying them to blow this out of proportion for his twisted agenda.
@adammiller67 @ameliarayno Adam - what specifically are you referring to? I talked to the Miami office of the state attorney today.
@FSNtylermason One thing you're missing - has court in Miami on Weds for probation violation (was found guilty of felony assault in Feb)
More incorrect info on FL. Due in court Weds. RT @ESPNAndyKatz: Medcalf-- Source: Smith reprimanded Mbakwe 'internally' http://espn.go.com/mens-college-bas...y-smith-internally-offseason-according-source …
@OtisRedding101 @DarrenWolfson We shall see. I'm not convinced Minnesota understands the status of the Florida felony case.
Based on comments coming from Tubby, not sure he realizes #Gophers Mbakwe is on probation in FL & due in Miami court this Weds. #NotGood
Strib & PP early articles miss the biggest issue - #Gophers Mbakwe is also on probation for felony assault in FL. Due in Miami court on Weds
***Can you say crazy? Give it up GW, let it play out! You are the only person pushing this.
I realize this is probably not the best question to ask now, but will this incident have any lingering effects into the season? Suspension etc?
Let me get this straight. There are people on here who want Mbakwe kicked off the team for this, is that right?
GW?
Read this. He should not be allowed to contribute (as staff or at all) on this site!
it's not just about "for this". It's for his whole body of work.
GW tweeted his new blog last night which it looks like he just started which likely means he's no longer contributing here
Really? During this time of the year, the football side is much busier than this BBall side, yet a thread about "Micah Hyde, a senior cornerback for the Iowa Hawkeyes, was arrested Saturday morning for public intoxication and interference with official acts." (Link started 10-7-2012) and the story also involved "Sophomore tight end Ray Hamilton was ticketed Saturday morning for being underaged and in a bar after 10 p.m., and junior offensive lineman Drew Clark was arrested Friday for public intoxication." None of those players are losing any practice time or playing time, and that thread garnered a total of 9 comments.

For those that don't, more of the same crap from him and not worth the click http://latenighthoops.com/mbakwe-may-face-additional-punishment-in-miami-felony-case/
Wrongly accused in a assault, accepts a plea bargain to move on with his life
Hmm . . .

Yes, wrongly accused and never proven otherwise.
I usually go to 4-5 games a year. Won't be attending anymore. I guess I'm just tired of Mbakwe's antics.
I would require Trevor to attend some type of alcohol classes and require him to be tested occaisonally like they do for multiple DWI's, if he fails a test he should be done.

You're going to stop attending games just because one player gets into more than his fair share of trouble?
Yes. I thought Tubby was a man of discipline and accountability, which is proving to be untrue. I won't judge anyone who continues to support the program. I just won't be one of them.

I'm not sure how old you are, but assuming you were a fan before 1999, this is pretty ridiculous. There are 12 other kids on that team busting their @ss and Trevor's problems are his own. And whatever you think of them, he's already been suspended an entire season, which is far more than many other schools would have dished out.
I guess I was under the impression that Mbakwe was on a pretty short leash. Then he gets a DWI and isn't disciplined. (Sorry, but the threat of not starting is not a punishment. We all know he'll be playing mega-minutes when it really counts)The guy has a history of trouble going back to high school. Makes it tough to root for him or the program when there's little accountability....and I don't care what other schools do. I want to support ours, but not when we enable criminal activity just to win a few more games.
in most cases people take they type of deal he did so they do not have to go to trial not to just move on with their lives.
