Can't vouch for its truth, but Iowa fans repeat the story that during her recruitment, Iowa coaches outlined to Crooks their plans for her regarding weight loss and fitness improvement. The story goes that Crooks did not appreciate hearing that.

She is what she is and has been successful, so why change🤷‍♂️

I'm a no in the Gophers going after Crooks. She's a definite defensive liability and I'd be surprised if Coach P is willing to abandon such a big part of her program's identity for such a player, albeit a very talented offensive player. Also, as Crooks was part of the mass exodus at ISU, I'm wondering how much she was part of the problem there. Maybe she had nothing to do with it, but then again maybe she did. I am sure Dawn and her staff have much more info on this than we do. All of this being said, I'll defer to whatever Coach P and her staff decide re: pursuing Crooks.

Wasn't it the supreme court that already ruled that it was unconstitutional to prevent students from transferring when they wanted and that they could be paid? Sound like the legal precedent is already established.
 

The right center for the Gophers probably isn't in the portal yet.

Most teams can't win a Sweet 16 game and maybe not even a Round 32 game with Crooks.

You can easily run her off of the court, crush her in a pick and roll, or go small and rain 3s on her. A good team would absolutely embarass her.

Yep she would be the 5. Undersized but I think that it could still be a successful look for Minnesota. Strong and can score

Also she was just in Minnesota with for the Paige B camp. She put a post that said “no place like home”.

The great thing is, we have an amazing coach with a solid core team. I have a hard time believing whoever Dawn adds will do anything but make this team stronger. They may or may not be well-known but who cares if they make a big impact. Again, there's often more motivation if they appreciate the opportunity more than someone weighing us against half a dozen other teams.

They did. I have wondered, if 2 of Tonga's years were at a community college, couldn't they appeal and say those shouldn't count like that Ole Miss quarterback did? But, she played for 3 schools already besides the Gophers and the NCAA may have made an exception for her last year. It was so awesome she got to finish her career like she did with Minnesota!

Finally, Trump trying to put an end to the college sports disaster. The student-athlete label is a joke. These are athletes being paid to represent a college brand. Period. Majority of players never graduate or have non marketable degrees. Many college athletes struggle after their playing days are over. There are only so many hand out asst coaching jobs available.

I disagree about Gophers wbb not graduating players, most to majority of the players here graduate and are successful. Back to portal wan't's, would not mind a Point guard like Janay Sanders was for the Gophers team a couple season's ago. Good on ball defender, we need another ball handler. Will probably need a 5 with just the Red shirt Bashears back in that role. Would not mind that Purdue center, think we recruited her before.
