you are kidding right? We could win out last 3 and there is no way this year is even close to being successful compared to last year or the expectations going into this year. Winning our last three would be saving face or even looking up until next year but in no way I hope no one finds success in this season.
Victories over Illinois and Wisconsin are followed by a win in a Green Giant Niblet-like bowl. IMO, anything less will make for a very disappointing season.
If we win out, there is no way you could not consider the season a success. Let's break it down...
- team is decimated by injuries all year long
- loss of head coach mid-season
- of the six losses, five have come to the #2, #3, #5, #15 and #16 ranked teams in the nation
- first bowl game win since????
- we have the axe!!!!
If this isn't viewed as a success, all things considered, that's nuts.
I don't think any scenario that has you struggling to make a bowl game, coming off a NYD game the year before can make the season a success. However with what you laid out, winning the final 3 games (including the bowl) would certainly keep the season from being a major step back.
Has certainly been one of the strangest seasons I can remember and when you are talking Gopher football that is saying something.

Win out
if we only consider the last 3 games as the barometer than why play the other 10. With the expectations for this year this year has been a huge disappointment. We cant blame losses on injuries much like we don't asterisk wins when the teams we beat are missing players. Need to have a rebound season next year
Win out
