I look at the first page of this forum and there is a lot of doom and gloom. I am reviewing the Killer Frogs page and they are cautiously optimistic. We are 2-0 and headed to TCU for what is going to be a great matchup no matter who our QB is. The weather is going to be perfect (high of 77 low with cloud cover and little chance of rain) and they are talking about it almost being a sell out. Who's excited for Saturday? Who's making the trip to TCU? Goldyspop and I will be there and I can't wait to get on the plane Friday morning and lose my voice cheering on the Gophers at TCU. We had our Gopherhole t-shirts made (which was brought up in another thread) so hope to bump into some GHers. Looking forward to the 'Sota Social, beers at the Flying Saucer, tailgating, a victory, and checking out Fort Worth. SKI U MAH

Our group of 6 will be there. Going to the Rangers game Friday night.

We are flying down on Friday and very much looking forward to it!

Heading down Friday morning with IAM4Goldy. We're soaking in a Texas HS football game on Friday night (Clear Eyes, Full Heart, Can't Lose!)...looking forward to meeting up with Norman Dale and his crew as well as gvgopher and his crew.

Go Gophers!!

in!! love the gopherhole shirts, i'll be looking for you guys!

Wife & I are at a casino tonight on our way from Hilton Head.

Is the marching band (pep band) still going? According to the schedule on their website, it was listed as "possible trip" to TCU.

I just booked my trip last week...I couldn't miss out on all the fun! Going with 2 of my tailgate boys. I don't think I've ever been excited to go to Texas before...:)

4 of us are going! Hope to be there around dinner time Friday!!

Some of the above may be a part (as my wife and I) but I understand that "Creative Charters" has 70 going.

The U's alumni org has a number going on charters also but don't know the number.

I expect the Minn group will be loudly heard at the stadium.

Go Gophers

We have a group of 4 heading down on the 7 AM Delta flight Thursday morning! Hoping we fill the stadium!

Unfortunately, I don't think so. Tickets for the seats in the area typically reserved for the visiting band at TCU's stadium are for sale on the TCU athletics website.

Go Gophers!!

We were also thinking about taking in a high school game on Friday night...did you have any particular game in mind? We have a group of 5 going down on Thursday night. Go Gophers

I'm flying in with 2 others on Friday morning. Going to the Rangers v Braves game Friday night.

In case you didn't see the all things TCU link. Here is the info for the Sota Social and Tailgate:
'Sota Social on Friday, September 12: 5:00-7:00pm
Capital Bar
3017 Morton Street, Fort Worth, TX 76107
Kick off the weekend with other Gopher fans as well as University President Dr. Eric Kaler, Director of Athletics Norwood Teague, the spirit squad, the pep band and Goldy. This event is free to attend, happy hour specials for beverage will be available as well as local food trucks for food. A brief program will begin at approximately 6:00pm.
Gameday Tailgate on Saturday, September 13: Noon-3:00pm
TCU Campus
Bellaire Drive North near the Bayard Friedman Tennis Center
There’s no better way to start gameday than with a pre-game tailgate. Located in close proximity to the stadium, this event is also free to attend with a cash bar available. Meal tickets for a full buffet provided by Blue Mesa Grill can also be purchased for $20. Meal tickets can be purchased in advance or at the event. A brief program will begin at approximately 1:45pm.

Also in that thread are recommendations for which HS game to go see.

I just caught that in the 'Sota Social description it says "Kick off the weekend with other Gopher fans as well as University President Dr. Eric Kaler, Director of Athletics Norwood Teague, the spirit squad, the pep band and Goldy." I am assuming that means the pep band is still coming.

Flying down with my dad and brother Friday. Meeting up with a bunch of uncles/aunts/cousins. Been looking forward to this game for a while; my family's split between TCU and Minnesota fans.

What game?

I'm heading down Thursday night, staying with friends in Dallas, hitting Joe T Garcia's for an early lunch on Saturday, then to the game. If I get out of the TCU area in a reasonable time after the game, I may stop to see the Texas-UCLA game at AT&T Stadium. I'm not all that interested in either team, but would like to see that stadium. It was being built just as I moved back to Northern Minnesota back in 09.

I would expect very small pep band like he Penn State traveling pep band, or the MN band that went to Nebraska, not a 100 member pep band, like the smaller band Minnesota sent to Iowa in 2003 or like the bands the Pac 12 teams (Cal, USC) sent to TCF.

I do not think Minnesota has sent the full band to non-bowl road game since either Northwestern and/or Iowa very early in the Mason era.

Got a group of 2 driving down early Thursday morning. Go gophers!!

As a longtime Fort Worther, I want all of you coming to the game to have a great time! Get there early and wander through the various parking areas, sampling the tailgate fare and the Texas drawls!

BRINGING THE MAROON AND GOLD FROM CHICAGO....YEAH BABY!

TCU trying for a "white out". I had to find my maroon hat to wear in place of my white gopher hat just so I don't contribute to their shenanigans.

+ 2 flying in from a work trip to go. Looking forward to my first road trip game. We'll be at the tailgate
