Boasting? How about facts and a little respect? Reading the Syracuse boards (hoops or football), the posters gave respect to your MN teams. On this board, 90% of it gave complete disrespect to the Orange throughout. Even this topic heading shows how little many (certainly not all) MN fans know about the game of football and that SU deserved the respect. But, as they say, the respect is earned on the field. ANd the Orange did their talking on the field with a victory over the Gophers. As Jim ROme says....SCOREBOARD!

Not trying to rub it in, just annoyed by these posts as I lived in MN but went to SU. Reading both boards, looks like Syracuse outclassed Minnesota on the boards and on the field.

Ummm..and your Friday night consists of bashing me? Face it, the name of this board shows the overconfidence of much of the fan base and the bashing of Syracuse. Syracuse just beat your team and you can either admit you were wrong and congratulate another team or continue to bash the team and their fans. For the rest of the Gopher fans (some have said nice things), best wishes for your team in 2014.

I call bu11sh1t. I was at those Syracuse sites, and didn't detect one ounce of respect. FU SU

UMn had won THREE IN A ROW vs Syracuse and that didn't get SU fans to give us any respect, so you winning one close game is not going to garner you any respect from me!!! You all had a sh1tload of excuses for why you lost to an "inferior" gopher team last year, as SU fans labeled us. So why can't we have excuses for losing this game? Gophers have still won 3 of the last 4 games we've played against each other.

I got banned at your sites for doing nothing more than posting FACTS, but they were facts that homer SU fans didn't like, so bite me.

I dare you to let me back on your board. Your fans, couldn't handle me. I'll take on 100 of you by myself and all 100 of you couldn't handle me. Because you got nothing but excuses and bs and a condescending and arrogant view not backed up by any substance.

You claim that 90% of this board gave SU complete disrespect?! That's doubtful, rawphenomenon said the majority of posters here were cool. But 100% of the SU boards gave UMn nothing but complete disrespect. I don't know of a single SU fan that got banned, but SEVERAL Gopher fans got banned from Syracuse's site!!! Oh wait, 99%, rawphenomenon posts at one of those sites and he's a standup honorable guy.

You want substance. Syracuse won the game. Minnesota lost. And you talk about the past? How about the present sir? Syracuse won when this thread continually bashed Syracuse and said you would crush them. And reading the thread, others bashed the school itself and the alumni. Bash if you will...but facts are facts. I didn't read your threads on the SU board but if they were just facts and nothing else, I am surprised you got kicked off. But judging by your post that you will "take on 100 of (us) by yourself" I have a feeling you posted a little more than facts. Fact is you lost to SU today, the most recent, relevant game to discuss. Is that enough substance for you sir? No reason to be pathetic and scared...Syracuse just won the game. The substance you crave sir is the result of the game. I wish the Golden Gophers a great 2014 season.

Let's talk the present and just say that Syracuse has the current leader in the running for Rookie of the Year in the NBA (MCW) and a CURRENT NBA All Star and Olympic GOld Medal Winner (Anthony), not to mention a hoops team in the most recent Final 4. And isn't this a football forum?

All I did was post facts. I didn't insult anyone or challenge anyone, they just didn't like what I had to say!!!


SU fans didn't seem to give any credence to THE FACT that we had won 3 straight football games vs Syracuse, including a game just last year. In fact, I read SU fans make a bunch of excuses for why they lost that game to us and then proclaimed that it didn't mean SU wasn't still the superior fb team. So I say, back at you, just because SU won today, doesn't mean they are the superior team.


And probably 2/3rds of SUs Olympic medals were won before 1960. Over 2/3rds of UMn's were won AFTER 1960!!!!

And that's significant seeing as UMn has won THREE TIMES as many medals as SU has.


And SU has ONE SINGLE SOLITARY Nobel laurette associated with its university, and not a graduate.

UMn has TWENTY-THREE!!! Incl 8 graduates.


23 to 1.



And UMn won SIX Natl Titles last season, and THREE the year before and THREE the year before that and THREE the year before that.

Is that recent enough for you???



Oh, but I'm sure you will discount them since they aren't cfb, cbb or lacrosse titles. Those are the only 3 sports relevant to anyone, right?!


This despite the fact that football participation is decreasing, and NHL attendance has topped NBA attendance, and the sport of hockey has grown by leaps and bounds and continues to grow and there are 6 times as many people playing hockey than lacrosse, and NHL stars makes millions a year, and Dance and Cheer team participation is growing by leaps and bounds as well and is 6 times more popular than lacrosse as well and actually helps in getting better opportunities after graduation. Wrestling is the only sport that is not growing but even there, wrestlers just transition into ufc or something similar.


And UMn has TWO former Gophers nominated for the NFL Pro Hall of Fame right now!!!!

And a former Gopher was named to the cfb HOF in 2011 and in 2006 and in 2003 and in 2002.



And several Gophers are already slated to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics and are favored to win medals.

And no one has said SU doesn't dominate UMn in bb. It just wasn't always so. SU fans don't seem to want to acknowledge this FACT.

Your board is garbage, they banned anyone who admitted they were gopher fans pretty much. I'm sure they are crowing over there about how all of us have left their board now, kinda hard to show up when you get banned for no reason.
