"Simulating brandishing a weapon" penalty

He didn’t go on a political rant at all. He simply and clearly explained why it is indeed a point of emphasis for the refs. You didn’t like it and made it political. Get a fucking spine.
The reading comprehension on this site is unbelievable. You clearly aren’t a bright person, but I’ll try. I said we all agreed on why it’s a point if emphasis, but he wanted to belabor the point. That was my only issue and I said it in my post.

I could honestly read PJ's lips when he was yelling at the ref. I'm pretty sure he said "everyone in the country is doing it". I've seen several instances of it where no penalty was called. I really thought they were just revealing their abs to show how ripped they were. Now that I've learned it's brandishing a weapon, I'm glad it's a penalty, and Walley deserves a serious talking to by PJ. I always hoped our athletes were fine upstanding kids. Naive, I know. I detest thug, gangster, culture. It depresses me. I wish it was cool to reject all that shit.

You understand he didn't actually have a gun right? It also isn't endorsing "thug gangster culture" its a friggin celebration.

Let me guess, you got all upset when Moss faked mooned the crowd at Lambeau as well 🤣

A little of the topic. Walley gets a personal foul, what about the USC player trying to take the ball from Koi after the interception? Would that not also be a personal foul? I also believe that the Gophers were flagged for a celebration penalty as well after the fact.
There was a lot happening that we couldn't see on TV. There was a moment too that Fleck very quickly and aggressively ran onto the field as if to stop someone from doing something. Not sure if the teams were getting into it or something?

The way it was stated on TV, there were multiple instances where a flag was thrown after the INT but only one penalty was announced.

I think three flags were thrown and it was all for our guy taking his helmet off.

Wish they would have flagged the USC player for being petty and trying to take the ball from Perich.

He certainly didn't simulate brandishing anything, if that were the case he would've pretended to actually draw a weapon from his waistband. He never went beyond lifting his jersey, so displaying a simulated weapon would be the only thing that could qualify. I get the sentiment, and I don't know the rule verbatim, so I don't know if it was the right call or not. If that's what Walley was implying, his actions were in extremely poor taste and judgment and I don't take issue with the call. That's not what I want to see from my leadership figures on the team, and gun violence has been a considerable cause of death among young black males in this country over the past 30+ years.
Agree if Walley was simulating brandishing a gun, he or any other gopher shouldn't do it during a fb game or any other time. The over-the-top celebrating seems to take after PJF.

I agree it's a celebration. And in poor taste. Let me guess, you love, love, love degenerate rap music too. I'm glad we're not friends.

after looking at the still pic closely, it looks like has play cheat sheet attached to his pants and thats what he is looking at. Read the play correctly and got penalized for it by 3 blind mice who missed more legit calls than wrong ones called.

Has anyone ever seen this penalty called before?!

Go Gophers!!
3rd time I've seen it called this year, but the way the ref in our game phrased it was different.

First time since the throat slash back in the 80's (I think where the rule originated)

PJ on his radio show made some sort of comment that they knew they'd need every bullet, every arrow, etc. to beat USC.
I assume he'll be suspended for the remainder of the season

Ja’maar Chase just got a $20,000 fine for the same move, but he just pretended to pull his jersey up.

No, just good ole Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard. . . ABBA. . . I guess.

This isn't possible. The penalty should be called "pretending to own a weapon".

The fair catch signal when done correctly simulates

And proper fair catch signal resembles “Seig Heil” and the cultural implications of white boys executing it are frightening. Politics aside of course.
That was pretty well played.

Hush. Next comment will fully embarrass yourself.

I like some, dont like some, its music. Seriously are you a thousand years old or something. Did you once get picked on by a dude in a blue bandana yelling "westside!!!" or something? You realize most of the "degenerates" and "thugs" weren't actually in gangs right?

What kind of music do you like because if it isn't Christian Rock I guarantee I can find you plenty of stories of people doing some pretty awful things...not just singing it but actually doing it.

Its ok man...I get it. We all do. You stick to listening to Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant while the rest of us wonder if you are going to have a coronary while the kids listen to that darn devil music!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

(This guy cheers for John Lithgow in Footloose)

To understand his mind, you need to acknowledge the source:

For a long time before they became famous they just pretended to be godly and still did drugs and banged groupies. They started to feel guilty and hypocritical so they stopped. I read an interview with one of the members in a book on 80s metal and he talked about it!

Allshade would never listen to that cause rock and roll (even Stryper) is THE DEVILS MUSIC!!

This is close to the dumbest thing I’ve read on GH. That includes the constant stupidity on the political board. Good effort.
So, if you were a coach of any athletic team, pewee's thru college, you'd jump up-and-down, yell at the referees, players and other coaches and your spouse, kids, parents, et all. would think "I'm good" with that display.

The game is high stakes for the coaches, I think getting fired up within reason is fine.

I see nothing wrong with celebrating. Whining and bitching, that's stupid.

I have no clue who the hell you're watching, but PJ does very little of this. He does no more or less ref chirping than any other coach. Yells at his players? No, he doesn't. I can't help but think some deep seeded dislike for him has seriously clouded your perception of him. I'd tell you to reevaluate but you seem past that long ago.
