"Simulating brandishing a weapon" penalty

So if you did a karate kick or simulated karate like they do in NFL would the refs throw this flag. Asking in case Danny"Diggler" Strigow ends up with a dirk roundhouse kick after a sack.

A little of the topic. Walley gets a personal foul, what about the USC player trying to take the ball from Koi after the interception? Would that not also be a personal foul? I also believe that the Gophers were flagged for a celebration penalty as well after the fact.

Didn’t notice that live at the game. Rewatching after I got home I’m yelling at the TV at 1am “why wasn’t that a penalty!?!” I also found it odd all the TV relays cut away right as the USC player is doing that with no mention of it on the broadcast. Not that it mattered, but it was a sore loser move and 100% should have been a penalty.

I remember Torii Hunter saying he did not wear a cup because "I have a lot going on down there". Does not really apply to this thread but, you know, where else could I fit it in?
How about quoting Keith Millard?

I think it was him when the cops busted in with a warrant; Keith flexes and says “my arms are more powerful than your guns!”

Yea pretty sure I remember I think Tyler Nubin being flagged for that, in a less egregious manner

Honestly, it looks like he's using a hand pump on a bicycle tire.

Starting a lawnmower. But I guess technically both a lawnmower and a bike pump could be used as weapons.
Too funny...love to see someone simulate using manual lawn edger, or raking leaves.

Reminds me of this I Think You Should Leave sketch (hilarious Netflix show if you're not familiar).

I thought he was grating a carrot

Yeah, it was very odd they cut away and didn't mention it.

On the play where the guy body slammed Perich, as he was celebrating that tackle (he didn't realize a flag had been thrown), he also took off his helmet while celebrating the body slam.

I get that, very technically, some of these are penalties. But they almost never apply them universally. That's okay if they don't apply them at big times, but Walley's excessive celebration for I guess owning and legally holstering a pretend gun could have cost us a game.

I just think to call that penalty during that situation and part of the game is chickenshit. Five played a hell of a second half for sure so nice to have him back.

I'm still confused....watched the "educational" videos as well. So lifting his shirt is brandishing a firearm? WTH? He doesn't shoot anything....doesn't pull or tuck a weapon....seems like a crazy call and extremely crucial time.

That quote adorned a wall in the basement of a comic shop at 32nd and Hennepin until the building was torn down for some yuppified mixed use nonsense residence, a few years ago.

What's a "comic shop"...

Oh Timmy... We beat the #11 team in the country and instead of jumping in on the excitement and positivity by posting on any of the dozen threads about the game, you gravitate immediately to the one contraversial-ish thread you can try to police the opinions of others in. If you're going to try to troll professionally, you need to learn how to fake it better - right now you're as obvious as a compound fracture. But that's not how your type works, is it?

Anyways, nice to see you showing up on here after a win for once, I guess😜
I was not happy about the win?

What did I do? Go on a political rant after the big win? That might not have been me…

We have to assume that the players are warned about this rule and the focus on it. Our kid violated the rule he knew was being watched and hurt his team. A loss of self discipline. He needs to be punished and I'm guessing he will be.

The post game press conference with Joyner and Perich had a hilarious moment.

Press: "You ever heard of a brandishing a weapon penalty before?"
Perich: "Nah, that was terrible. That was terrible."
Joyner looks at Perich and whispers "Don't say that." (I think?)
Joyner: "Um, we can't control what the refs say."
Perich: "Oh yeah." Smiles and lowers head.
That is a vet looking out for a true freshman.....love it.

He didn’t go on a political rant at all. He simply and clearly explained why it is indeed a point of emphasis for the refs. You didn’t like it and made it political. Get a fucking spine.
