Foul! Ben is a brutal coach. Garcia needs to get the ball in space and moving to the hoop, he is not a post up type player. Need to play faster. Our defense is decent, but our offense is fucking horrible. Gotta play more up tempo with this roster

That was a terrible decision not to foul…….but Ben still hasn’t addressed all of his teams biggest weakness…….SHOOTING! Absolutely terrible!!!

Lots of teams/coaches don't foul in that situation. Their guy made the shot so most fans will see not fouling as the wrong decision.....he misses the shot and suddenly it was a great choice.

Personally I think they should have fouled when the clock got under 5 seconds and the ball handler wasn't in the act of shooting but it is what it is.

Must. Defend. Johnson...

Pretty sure watching veteran coach Izzo in that situation last year a couple times and he fouled as soon as it got under 8 seconds and they cross half court.

But this team can’t get in a free throw shooting contest. They left far too many points at the free throw line. My 94 year old mother in law used to say “free throws win games”

With horrible offense, playing faster would ensure double digit losses for every game. Ben has to work with what he has and a terrible shooting team means you slow everything down and hope your defense keeps it close.

Guys. Seriously. This is about as black and white a situation as it can get. I will repeat myself. Last time.

This isn’t about fouling up 3 or not. There are situations where it can truly vary.

This isn’t about Ben choosing not to foul up 3 as soon as ball got near half court. Or having the guys foul once clock was at 4 seconds.

This is about the fact he LITERALLY HAD US FOUL UP THREE ON MONDAY WITH 15 SECONDS LEFT.

Seriously. That is the issue. We have a coach so out of his depth. He can’t even be remotely consistent THREE DAYS apart. His reasoning after the game was “we aren’t good at free throws so why extend the game” uhhhh he did the same thing Monday with way more time. Aka a greater extension of the game.

He’s objectively unfit to coach. He objectively made the wrong decision. Because he objectively made the inconsistent decision.

Debate over.

This. This actually isn't a bad squad IF they had good shooters- very WI like.

You've actually extended the debate to fit or unfit. Jim Souhan will be needed to make that determination. 😏

I agree that we can’t shoot….but….you still need to foul, put your team in position to win

Terrible

3/23 from 3 and still should have won the game. Ben Johnson sucks! Needs to go away. Cannot recruit the most glaring issue on this team.

90% on Ben Johnson and 10% on Fox and Patterson for terrible defense.. Fox is guarding the 7 footer who is a non threat so it’s like playing 4 on 5…

The 7 footer slips the screen and Patterson hesitates almost like he expects contact…half ass attempt by Patterson… Patterson leaves way to much space..Fox should not of even worried about his man and hedged or doubled hard.. pretty basic… know who you are guarding.. Fox is slow to react and should have been a step out farther out.. Fox gets a hand up but late.. Fox’s guy slips the screen and dives to the hoop terrible recognition..

3-23 from 3 and 9-17 from the FT is terrible…

It wouldn’t have made it a great choice.

Don’t foul, bad shooter misses contested 3, win the game. Seems like the decision would be viewed differently by most fans if it worked out that way.
