Shedeur Sanders’ Slide in NFL Draft Cost Him $44 Million

I have to tell you though, coming from a country school to an inner city school that was supposed to be one of nicer inner city schools was a bit of a shock. Many of the kids were pretty far behind where I was at and we were in the same grade. There were kids that graduated with me that I'm 100% would never have graduated from the school came from.
Since we're no longer talking Shedeur, I'd add that I don't think 75% of the people I graduated public high school with would have been able to go back, as 18 year olds with a public H.S. diploma, and pass 8th grade in the Catholic school I attended.

My 3rd grade book reports in Catholic school were more difficult that what I was doing in 9th grade public school.

Ridiculous.

he balled out on Sunday @STPGopher

Shedeur Sanders haters: It's not a good week to be in the anti-Sanders crowd.

The Tennessee Titans are a bad football team, but that doesn't take away from what Sanders did Sunday. Sanders had 364 yards, three touchdowns passing and another one rushing. His final passing touchdown came with 1:03 to go, but an ill-conceived 2-point conversion failed and the Titans held on for their second win of the season, 31-29.

It's hard to blame Sanders for the loss. He was very good, including the final drive when the Browns needed a touchdown to have a shot at the tie.

As I stated in another thread, Nick Punto was screwed out of several MLB All-Star games.

And somehow he is a Pro-Bowler:

Go Gophers!!
There has to be more to this story, I am a Shadeur defender, but they had to have asked a ton of other guys who declined. Shadeur was considerably worse than JJ McCarthy.

Trevor Lawrence, Aaron Rodgers, Cam Ward and even Joe Burrow has to have turned it down. Guys like Tua, Flacco, and Geno Smith were more deserving.

Saying any of those guys were deserving is probably a stretch, more deserving then Sanders, but nowhere close to what should be an all-star level standard. :)

One note I saw said that due to Maye being in the SB and opt outs due to injury and rest it was down to guys like Geno Smith, Justin Fields, Riley Leonard or Sanders for the #3 spot. So from a publicity standpoint it makes sense to toss Shadeur in there just because people may actually pay a little bit of attention the the farce that the pro bowl is.

They were smart to get rid of the actual game and move to a skills competition and flag football to at least get some guys interested in showing up. But I can totally understand why a ton of players would have zero interest in something like the pro bowl at the end of a grueling season.

For the players, being selected to the All Pro team is way more important then being selected for the pro bowl.

The way this is trending, actually playing in the Pro Bowl could be a sign a guy is about to get cut.

They even asked me. I turned it down.

I only used those folks because they are clearly not Pro Bowlers and even they deserved it more than Shadeur. They were all better than Sanders in every single category (completion percentage, TD:Int, YPA, etc.). Shadeur was legitimately bad this year. Hell, Dillon Gabriel's numbers were better than Shadeur's.

Yep....but as evidenced by this thread, the twitter reaction and the other stories popping up about it.....people will pay attention to this choice whereas most of the others would get a fraction of the attention.

Now grated, nearly all that attention will be negative, but might get a few people to tune into and/or pay attention to the pro bowl who might not have before.

We can whine about it, but all on this board would be elated to ride the pine in a pro-bowl. I remember running into a I guy I competed against in Highschool. He showed me his Superbowl ring. It didn't seem to bother him one bit that he rode the pine. I am sure he had fun telling his children/ grandchildren all about it.
