Say something nice about Iowa, 2025 edition

Is there anyone left in Minnesota or on this board that do not understand the difference between a fair catch signal and an invalid fair catch signal?
Neither Pat McAfee nor Aaron Rodgers had a f’n clue what the difference was. And I bet they still don’t.

It's not Iowa and you probably won't run into anyone that will annoy you unless you have an unusual relationship with corn.

My son-in-law is a huge Hawkeye fan, but he is also a really great guy. (However - never, ever bring up the "phantom fair catch signal" - just leave that one be....)
I'd bring it up until he admits that the winning touchdowns in 2015 and 2016 were both blatant holds (it was the same play both years), otherwise Gophers win both of those games.

If it were me, and I'm petty like this, every single time I saw him, I would point at him and wave, just like an illegal fair catch signal.

So much of Iowa topography is EXACTLY like where I grew up in south central MN. Outside of college sports, it just feels like the same place. In that respect, it is really hard to get angry with "my" people. The same struggles. The same focus on farming. The same focus on farming the exact same crops. Etc. etc. etc.

I've actually spent a lot of time in Iowa in my life and, although I live in the outer metro now, I did live in southern Minnesota during my earlier years in this state. I agree about the topography.

One thing I enjoyed was travelling through Iowa at night during the 4th of July period. It was so relatively flat and treeless that you could see fireworks displays in various locations from a distance while you were driving.
