People taking their jobs seriously (most of them) and doing the research to know who desrves to be where. Coache's probably put much less thought into it since their job is to coach.

Don't a lot (most?) of coaches have their SID's do the rankings because they don't care or don't have enough time to look at carefully? I could be wrong on this but I have heard that.

We may not move up as much as many of you think. Last night Florida State lost 61-56 at home to a 3-4 Mercer team. That makes the victory over FSU seem less significant.

The ESPN Power Rankings have the Gophers jumping 10 spots to #13. That was the largest jump they had in their rankings this week.

I can't look at individual ballots. Every time I do I am disgusted. Creighton loses to Boise State and falls only 4 spots. Georgetown score 37 points and jumps 5. How does he justify a 5 spot jump for Illinois?

The one positive in that is he jumped Minnesota 5 spots from 23, but the logic that goes in to these is just fascinating sometimes.

Sounds like Andy Katz wants back on the bandwagon, but is hesitant because he's been burned the last few years.

I've been high on Minnesota for three years, but the Gophers have flopped in February in time for a bid. I'll still wait to see if this is really a turning point in the season after winning at Florida State.

Wow. I didn't read all of them, but his reasononing for UNC, UConn, and MSU are ridiculous. Plus he has Michigan at 7 and the Gophers not even in it. This is exactly the type of guy that Gary Parrish blasts when he writes those articles calling out how ridiculous some of these voters are.

Watching Illinois plummet will be fascinating. They make only 48.9% of their two point shots, 122nd in the country. Relying on 43% of your scoring from behind the three point line is not sustainable. The next ranked team on the list of 3 pt reliance is Arizona at #40, and they score only 34.5% of their points from three pointers.
