Predict the Score Thread - Floyd of Rosedale on the Line!!! MINNESOTA vs Iowa

Gophers win 31-28

Gophers attempt over 50 passes in a surprisingly fast paced and high scoring game.

at Minnesota Golden Gophers on Saturday, September 21

Being 2.5-point road favorites isn’t a bad way to open Big Ten play, unless you’re a Hawkeye fan still not over last year’s upset loss to Minnesota.

Iowa has added incentive to win because a second loss in four games would all but end their chance at the new 12-team College Football Playoff setup.

The Golden Gophers could clinch a third straight shutout if they keep all phases of Iowa out of the end zone.

Seems like this writer thinks shutting out Iowa is not out of the question. . .

Prediction is we’ll see a defensive battle; both offense seem to still be figuring things out. My bet, Brosmer connects on just enough check downs, shots, and channels a little bit of the Iowa TE utilization to score a few TDs. On defense they shut Johnson down just enough and Cade makes a late game Mertz-like bad decision. Heatherman literally bites the head off a hawk at halftime, team erupts.

MN 20
Iowa 13.

Iowa: 20
Gophers 13

I hope I am wrong. But Gophers line (both O and D) play has been very concerning so far this season. We need dramatic improvement in this game or it could be worse.

I think Iowa is fairly shitty., If the gophers want to make a bowl game this is a must win in my opinion, especially after NC got beat by scrubs.

Iowa 21
MN 18
