Post Game Thread: Oregon Fumbles TD, Blows Out Gophers

It has been difficult to know if it’s a confidence issue, not being completely healthy, the D scheme but Koi has been noticeably tentative and behind on many big plays. Even in his return game he looks like he’s tip toeing instead of hitting the gaps with authority. I still believe he has talent and will make big contributions if he stays in MN.

We lost our best (by far) LB and two very good CBs. I'm no defensive brain wizard but I've always thought that poor CB play really erodes the effectiveness of the safeties. Safety is a position of strength for us on paper, but for some reason they haven't looked as solid this year as last. Again, they play in an overall system and if any of the gears don't mesh it causes unit-wide problems.
You're not wrong but none of that accounts for things like blown coverage and missed tackles. I really thought our two veteran DTs would be better than what we've seen.

It seemed to me that the Oregon crowd and the team were taking it out on us for their bad showing at Iowa. The crowd never stopped roaring at every Gopher play. The Gophers can't compete with the top third of the present B10. This is the ninth year and they should have 4 and 5* players by this time.
The crowd at Autzen was pretty "average" during the Minnesota game. Certainly not anywhere near the top of their game when it comes to Autzen crowds.

97 has never been any good. 91 had the chance to be a difference maker he’s flashed that but not enough.
