POST GAME THREAD: GOPHERS DOMINATE HUSKERS!! WIN 6TH STRAIGHT VS NEBRASKA!!!!

I was one who thought the Huskers would prevail. One of the best Gopher victories in my 40+ years of watching Gopher football.
I have to admit the OL looked improved, but I still would replace the right tackle. The OL was winning the battle - reminiscent of a Gordy Shaw coached performance.
Where has Kinsbury been all season? The other LBS were absence some of the time.
Still could use some tackling drills, especially our cornerbacks.

I was way off in my prediction in which I predicted a comfortable win for Nebraska. Gophers are a head-scratcher to some extent. I get that this is a bit of a transitional year, but I can't believe we let guys like Raymond and Mackobee run all over us and then held first-team All-American Emmett Johnson to 63 yards (did Mike Max do a post-game interview with Johnson?).

It's obvious a healthy Taylor means a ton to this team and (this is not a rhetorical question) is Jalen Smith the best deep threat we've had since Rashod Bateman? Lindsey is growing as a player and while he is likely to hit some speed bumps, his ceiling looks pretty impressive.

Every game is its own adventure, but if we keep racking up sacks and the interior defense can limit the run game, we should be in the games from here on out. Just can't afford to get in a track meet with Oregon. Last year we won the close ones. Remains to be seen if that pattern holds this season.

Something kinda scary I just realized is we have yet to win an away game this year. Next week Cannes that right !?

Finally got to watch the game after missing it last night. Only one take away… WOW

Fun game, love the result and dominating that second half. Defense was incredible all game. My favorite thing about the past 5 years of beating Nebraska is how we just seem to crush their souls by the 4th quarter. It’s literally palpable. However, I still hold the opinion that fleck and Harbaugh need to be more aggressive with their play calling in key situations. Didn’t matter in the end and won’t likely change anyway so I guess I’m done venting about it. Go gophs great win!!
Yep. Big Red started heading for the exits earlier than I thought they would...

I thought for sure I was going to have to swap seats w8th my 13 year old. Guy let out a string of F-bombs at Fleck during introductions. Turns out he was in the wrong seat and moved 5 more down...far enough to make him someone else's problem.
So...your kid dropped a string of f-bombs and you moved him 5 seats down to make him somebody else's problem. Nice job dad! 🤔😏😉

To DarrenTG's never-ending credit, he is accompanied very often by the next generation of Gopher fans in his seats.

Wanting to keep the soundtrack to PG instead of R is not a bad thing. This is not the Vikings.

I went to the Paul McCartney concert at US Bank with the missus. I watched the 1st half on my phone before Sir Paul came out. I turned off the phone, watched the concert and then went to the light rail and checked the score. I gave a whoop and then saw the Nebraska fans standing with dejection on their way back to MOA hotels. They were decidedly dejected with the performance. Even the two crazy passes by Raiola couldn't make them happy. However, I met one of ours and we had a great time talking Gophers and Sir Paul. BTW, that old man can still play.

To the folks who couldn't find even two winnable games left on our schedule :ROFLMAO::cool:
Football is crazy like that. Quarter to quarter and game to game. I will admit I was even thinking we might only beat Wisconsin (and even worried based on our victories/losses). Suddenly I only see Oregon/Iowa as losses and could somehow see us pulling one of those off! Yet I know that assuming wins and losses is a fools errand. Heck I picked on the fans rushing the field (Fleck and Perich apparently questioned it to). But heck, have fun and enjoy the win Gopher fans!

Meant to mention last night but I think that was the best game of Za'Quan Bryan's career so far. He played very well. Maybe a little lucky on that long pass drop but it's not like he was completely burnt. I think waiving his arms in front of the WR caused the drop.

Big news!

My wife, a Lincoln native and UNL alum attended the game with me last night, just as she has every home game.

She was wearing a Gopher t-shirt and Gopher hoodie last night, nothing new there, but she would typically wear something red, or Husker themed, like shoes, or a bracelet, nothing huge, but a nod to her history.

None of that last night, she has been fully converted. I’m so proud of her.

...as long as it's only Gopher sports...

So I caught the first five minutes of the game at an airport before being on a flight and missed the rest of the game. Wished I didn't, because it looks like it was a fun one to watch. Was on Sun Country so no TV to watch or score apps to check.

Had to wait for the plane to land, had my fingers crossed when opening the ESPN app to check the score, and I was so pleasantly surprised to see the score with 3 minutes left in the game. Awesome to see the rushing attack working again

Is there any chance the Iowa game is a night game? Or are they just deciding between 11 and 230?

Last time I flew Sun Country (last year to PHX) they had Wifi on board to your device, although can't remember if it had live TV options.

Near perfect game: first half 9 out of 10; second half, a 10! Husker fans on chat lines down on Rhule, Penn State chat line fans don't want him, either - they watched our game.

I've been as critical of PJ as anybody, in regards to his conservative tendencies.

But credit where credit is due...to PJ and the staff and players, that was an EXCELLENT performance tonight, especially in the 2nd half.

Tonight just had a completely different feel. Aggressive, explosive on defense, attacking, dominant, tremendous execution on offense when needed. We thoroughly outplayed them in the trenches. All of it.

Where did this come from?? Honestly.

The line play on both sides of the ball was just on a completely different level tonight.
Where did this come from?... their 20, 21 yr old kids. They have ups and downs. They aren't consistant. That's why PJ talks about being 1-0 every week. Just look at college football now with the transfer portal, 4-5 major upsets every week.

Only have had two, and one was Ohio State. We weren’t overmatched in the other, at Cal. We started slow; Cal started fast. We couldn’t catch ten because of a series mistakes. A self-imposed loss.

We grabbed the momentum toward the end of the first quarter and built on it through the end of the game.
