Frustrating we let them hang around, but hard to be too frustrated with a game that never really felt in doubt.

Fun to see some of the young guys get some run. Feel better about the young talent on D than O, but definitely reason for optimism heading into next year.

I reserve the right to be critical of Fleck😉, but I think that he's been the best coach of my Gopher fandom (1972-the present day). It's also nice that Elijah Spencer was the MVP. I would guess that he had a contingent of family and friends at the game being from Irmo, SC, which is about 100 miles from Charlotte. Go Gophers!

And he was a transfer from UNC Charlotte.

Nice way to end the season. Offense and defense both played well in spite of missing some key pieces on both sides of the ball. O-Line down 3 starters protected Brosmer well, and we got a chance to see some of the younger receivers in action. Feel bad for Mangham, he probably would have been a solid player for us but got stuck behind Taylor and Major.

Everyone is excited about Perich and the player he can become but Kerry Brown has superstar potential as well and if those two stick together we will have one hell of a safety duo for at least the next 2 years. He saved a couple of TDs and made some great plays.

Always good to end the year with a win. Will be interesting to see what kind of portal activity happens after the game as we make our way towards spring ball.

Gotta say, I'm proud of how Midwestern/Big Ten teams have looked this bowl season and glad Minnesota could join in on the fun.
  • Penn State, CFP Semis
  • Ohio State, CFP Semis
  • Notre Dame, CFP Semis
  • Indiana, CFP Berth
  • Illinois, Won Citrus Bowl
  • Michigan, Won ReliaQuest Bowl
  • Minnesota, Won Duke's Mayo Bowl
  • Nebraska, Won Pinstripe Bowl

D was awesome! Whole unit was fun to watch. Kerry Brown was huge tonight. Max, DT, Spencer all had great games. Mangham provided a spark and toughness too. Fun to see Flav. Great to see PJ get the mayo bath! I thought we’d be 5-7. Satisfied with 8-5.

Me too. After that Iowa loss I was not so sure. I was pissed and had doubts that we would win another game. Then after that game Fleck told us to "not give up on this team." I thought that that comment was so so "full of it", but it turned out to be true. Go Fleck, Go Gophers!

I think part of your post was deleted. I don't see WI or IA anywhere.

Back from the game and it was a good time. Yes, it was closer than I liked but never really felt like VT would take over.

Could not tell for sure but it looked like once again we traveled pretty well. Certainly the pub we chose ended up being a big spot for VT but that ended up being fine. Met MinneNoVa in person and a great guy.

Yes, 8-5 looks pretty good all things considered. We saw a lot of good football but certainly some bad too. Pretty normal for a middle-of-the-pack developmental program in an 18-team conference.

Ski U Mah!

Yep. Nippy but manageable. And yes, great stadium but they kept cutting off the piped in Rouser. It also would have been nice if they displayed team stats during the game but oh well.
Team stats would have been nice. I knew it was the Duke's Mayo Bowl. That chunk of the scoreboard could have displayed the stats rather than a large picture of a mayonnaise jar. ;)

As someone else noted Duke's played it up pretty hard like Cheez Its and Pop Tarts. It was more hokie than the Hokies but so be it. Mrs. Billd noted they did not have Duke's as a condiment at the food court. Bad miss there.
