Post Game Thread: Drake, Koi Lead Gophers to Crazy Comeback Homecoming Win!!

Ugly win but a win.

Drake had a rough game (O-Line didn't do him a lot of favors) but he hung in there and when he needed to make the big throw to Geers he did.

Frustrating how the refs were letting DBs be overly physical but thank god they were because it was huge for us on that 4th down throw to the EZ.

Lot to work on, run game was a complete mess and has to get better. D struggled most of the game but came up huge in the 4th quarter and made the plays they had to.

Whew.....Going to have to play much better next week against Nebraska....but in the end the team did just enough to get the W.....and on top of that.....we are not Wisconsin.... :)

It’s remarkable how things that were our biggest strengths for over a decade have become our biggest weaknesses (Oline play and sound fundamental defense) and our biggest weaknesses have become our biggest strengths (QB play and explosive defensive plays).

Might be the worst played game under Fleck since 2020.
Like even the Bowling Green loss was more clean.
Might not go quite that far (Bowling Green) not sure much can get worse than that. But this was a game that we should have lost but found a way to win.

Happy for the win. The run game has gone from concern to disaster. If this team stays one-dimensional for the rest of the season, it will be very difficult to get to 6 wins.

"We got beat. I got beat. We lost." -Barry Odom equivalent of "It's all on me."

+3 turnover margin and -51 penalty yards goes a long way
Yep, and not just the yardage difference in penalties but the timing of some massive penalties when they would have gotten off the field on D. Those are the mistakes bad teams make that keep them from winning games that they absolutely should have.

Glad we won. Winning is a great salve. But … Purdue had 456 yards of offense against our 262 yards; and Purdue had an amazing 253 yards rushing to our 30 yards. Yet we won. Almost impossible. This theft makes up for the Cal game giveaway. If our run defense is as bad against Nebraska as it has been so far to date, we will probably get motorboated. Unless Drake and Koi work some miracles.

It is almost unbelievable that we can have such an apparent talent deficit at both OL and DL against Purdue. Against Ohio State, yes. But Purdue? Coaching can’t be excused when players with experience and talent collectively play this poorly. PJ, the coordinators and the position coaches all need to look very hard in the mirror.

I can’t believe we won! Glad we did. We really need to get the O line and running game going. Gotta play our best game of the year next week to get a W and keep the Bits of Beoken Chair trophy.

The color guy was talking about Brockington during the broadcast and mentioned that he's spent a lot of time with the jugs machine after practice.

I would imagine that has a completely different meaning at UNC.
